Chowder yum! Service was excellent!

We, initially, ducked into John Benny's to get out of a downpour and were pleasantly surprised. It was a cold, wet day and we had some fish chowder that was delicious. The service was a bit rushed, but there was a food festival happening so we completely understood and were happy to just be warm and dry. BUT later that evening we attempted to go to Dick Mack's but found it so crowded we had zero interest in trying to jockey for a seat, so we returned to John Benny's for dinner. Yvonne, the same waitress from earlier in the day, was STILL there, working hard. She was really kind despite her exhaustion and we had the most amazing mussels and my husband had Irish Stew. Now, growing up with an irish mother I've had my share of Irish Stew and it really isn't my jam, but this Irish Stew was DELICIOUS- the sauce was so thick and flavorful. We would happily return to John Benny's again and hope you do too. Give Yvonne our regards.

I only visited the pub. They were very friendly and the food was good.

Visiting for the Dingle festival and their bacon cabbage croquets were so good we had to come bavk for a full meal in which both the risotto and fish stew were amazing.

Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere! Their fish pie was delicious and their beef & Guinness stew was genuinely the best I’ve ever had, almost a transcendentally good meal. The service was wonderful, kind, and funny. All at a very reasonable price as well. Highly recommended!

It may be a seafood town, but we were drawn in by the smell of curry. Fine choice; best pub curry we encountered in Ireland; and a gluten-free option.

A last minute decision to eat here quickly turned into an immediate favorite with no regrets to not trying our other choice. The staff was so friendly, food came out quickly, and was presented beautifully. Our waiter was kind, and eagerly invited us to come back later to see the musician playing later. As busy as this restaurant got, I appreciated how efficient our waiter was with our food, checking in on us, and the usual small talk. Outside of the banter, I would recommend this main street restaurant on food quality alone.

The food here was lovely, tried the fish pies and chicken. Very tasty. Also tried the Irish coffee which was fabulous and the poitin cocktail was delicious. I really wanted to try to visit again during my stay but it’s get very busy in the evenings with live music.

We enjoyed a lovely evening at John Benny’s, making sure to get a good seat for the live music later in the evening. The food was superb; I enjoyed the chowder followed by the fish and chips. It was a treat to have hake rather than the usual cod or haddock. The fish was like butter and the batter perfectly light and crisp. Our waitress was lovely, and the live music from a three-piece band with two female vocalists was beautiful.
