Great bar! Sat down for a pint while checking out a house in the area. Definitely gives out vibes of a local favorite. Very traditional inside with plenty of covered seating area outside, overlooking st. Luke's across the road. One of those places you sit and enjoy a pint and a conversation while observing the busy town life beyond the pub, as if in some sort of time capsule.

Was visiting Ireland for family party, we popped into a fairly busy john Henchy, we found a table outside and then went inside, had no problem getting drinks the service was quick and friendly, we stayed for a few more drinks and everyone said how nice the pub was and the atmosphere was good , we would definitely go back when we return from England 🇮🇪

One Irish stout for the lady please! “We are a Beamish pub”, they say. Perfect, I’ll take a pint. Tasty, cozy vibes here. There was a game on in the other room and the fireplace was cranking. Nice and toasty with my Beamish. Thank you!

Had a few drinks with friends here over the Christmas, it's a fine bar with lots of character. I live in the general area and any time I've been there in recent years, there's a new raft of college students behind the bar. And while I'm sure they are good lads and ladies, they are not the experienced and characterful bar people that this sort of place merits.

A great pub and great service Really lovely local Has a great selection of wines and spirits Reasonable priced drinks Plenty of space and little nooks to have a drinks Indoor and outdoor seating available Wheelchair accessible Staff are great on the bar and keep the place clean. Clean bathrooms Children friendly Dog friendly They allow you to bring in pizzas from the restaurant next door. A great pub I would definitely recommend

02/04/2024: Very well-deserved bib gourmand! We had a wonderful experience: great food (the turbot in particular was excellent), very knowledgeable service (the waiter spent over 5 min describing each dish in a lot of detail at the beginning: the knowledge, appreciation and passion were obvious and it contributed to a memorable experience — if you're reading this: keep it up and thank you!). Would love to go back. Prices reasonable for the quality and experience / refreshing in these days of crazy inflation where you can easily spend 50 EUR for a mediocre dinner…

02/04/2024: One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. More than a hotel, an experience! You can tell the staff are taken care of well and they shine because of it. Brian was particularly helpful and made my stay very special. The hydropool over looking the river is incredible, as are the rooms and the food. Will come back any chance I get!
30/03/2024: Great food. Beautiful rooms. Clean. Friendly. Warm and welcoming. Hotel located very close to Cork University Hospital. Price of a pint of Guinness €6.80
