Good feed for a good price. We didn't leave hungry. Only criticism is that it was very salty.

Wonderful little place with great management of gluten free food and cross contamination. We had lunch there and it's a bit noisy and narrow, but understandable being a place focused in take away food. The fish felt fresh and had a really nice and tasty breaded. The sausage and the chicken were also amazing. Regarding the price, it's not expensive at all, I've seen things way worse and way more expensive. Would definetly reccomend.

This little gem of a spot is in the heart of the city centre. Easily the best fish and chip shop and welcoming staff. They even recommended a lovely ice cream parlour for dessert..

Not very impressed at all. A very expensive delivery and the little amount of chips in all four meals equates to one portion in other premises . The chips were extremely dehydrated and the fish was just ok. Mostly batter. For the price paid I had much higher expectations

Small place with only 10ish seats inside, a few more outside. The cod was kind of small and thin so it tasted mostly of batter. Maybe I shouldve gotten Haddock? Shrimp were pretty good. Fries were nice. Garlic and Togarashi mayo were nice. Good location.

Came for dinner with a friend. Small but cozy dining room, they have a few cafe table sets inside and some outside. Tried the Korean BBQ chicken tenders with chips, and they were fantastic. Really nice light breading, crispy chips. The sauces were a Korean BBQ sauce and garlic aioli that went really well with the seasoned chicken tenders. Service was fairly quick, made shortly after ordering and came out hot. Employees were all very friendly and helpful. They do gluten free batter on their fish and chips and regular chicken tenders, and even have gluten free options for vinegar (a red wine vinegar) for those looking on their fish and chips. Tap to pay is available, I'd definitely go back again!

I love the dishes at this restaurant, especially the Haddock. The fish is well-seasoned and not greasy, and it's very well prepared. Even on busy days, the service is impeccable; everything is very clean and well-maintained. The staff is very friendly and responsive, the order doesn't take long to arrive, and the payment method is very modern. I highly recommend it!

Brook Inn

02/09/2025: Love this place food always guaranteed to be good amazing staff
28/08/2025: Just had a lovely family meal in The Brook Inn. Food was first class and all 5 adults had different starters and mains. Each one was absolutely gorgeous. Staff were also excellent, in particular the young waitress(Ciara?) who was first class. Definitely recommend this lovely relaxing restaurant and looking forward to a return visit very soon.

John Henchy & Sons

06/09/2025: On my last Friday night in Ireland, I arrived alone at JH & Sons to a large crowd both inside and out. I ordered a Guinness and found a spot to sit around back where there were three groups enjoying drinks and lively banter. Feeling somewhat out of place, I relocated to a stool at the end of one of two bars, next to where patrons were ordering drinks. I ordered a Beamish and occasionally engaged in brief conversation with those waiting on their drinks. The beers were exceptionally fresh and delicious. The crowd was expectedly boisterous and loud and the bartenders were quite busy. Rising above the din of the crowd was the recurrent laughter of assumably drunken female clientel - earily remiscent of the Wicked Witch of the West leaving on her broom. I was enjoying myself up until it was time for me to order my third pint. I had decided that I would have a Murphy's to complete my comparison of available Irish stouts. I don't quite know why, but I found it impossible to get the attention of either of the female bartenders. Patrons to my left and right were being served, but the bartenders chose to ignore me, and would not even make eye contact. I started to wonder what I had done to put them off. Was it my thick Brooklyn accent, or was it my NHL NY Rangers t-shirt? After what seemed like an eternity (15-20 min), a third bartender came over from the other bar and took my order. I drank my Murphy's (my favorite of the three) and left with the feeling that I was unwelcome.
