Very nice central hotel with a great bar and comfortable beds, staff were helpful and friendly and overall had a nice stay, i gave only 4 stars because of the parking situation which is a nightmare , the spaces in the public carpark are very tight and it is always packed also with the one way systems in place it was a disaster trying to find the way onto the m9 for dublin.

The location is great. Hotel lobby is nice but the rooms aren’t great. I was put into a room where the hot water wasn’t working and the shower head was too short as the room was for wheelchair access. When I mentioned the water issue in the morning I was advised the manager was aware and should be fixed now - not really helpful when checking out. I come regularly for work and do not think I’d stay here again.

Great experience! Sauna was very hot which was what we wanted. Steam room and Jacuzzi was lovely. Room doesn’t have a smart tv so that’s the only downside, but just a minor thing in the grand scheme.

Staff are amazing. Everyone I dealt with was extremely helpful and courteous. Rooms are nice. Bathroom needs an update but clean and everything you need. Leisure centre was good. Gym and pool. Great location right in town. Bar food a bit pricey.

The hotel is centrally located which was very helpful. The rooms were very nice and the breakfast was great. The ladies we came in contact with at the front desk were the least friendly of all of our hotel stays, which was disappointing.

Wonderful experience, such a central hotel in Kilkenny city with leisure club. Staff were fantastic - especially Shannon and Tara on reception. Room was perfect and breakfast in bed was cherry on top! Will be back again!

Hackett's Bar at Seán Byrne's

20/06/2026: Found exactly what I was looking for with a chill pub outside the city center. A city self park is across the street. As soon as i walked in I knew this was a hang for me. The bar was chill with a community feel. Mostly men were gathered watching Hurling on the TV. There is also an adjacent too. I got a pint of Guinness at the bar. The bartender was friendly enough and price was good at under 8 euro. Fantastic tasting brew. It's a solid pub in Kildare.
