The hotel is centrally located which was very helpful. The rooms were very nice and the breakfast was great. The ladies we came in contact with at the front desk were the least friendly of all of our hotel stays, which was disappointing.

Wonderful experience, such a central hotel in Kilkenny city with leisure club. Staff were fantastic - especially Shannon and Tara on reception. Room was perfect and breakfast in bed was cherry on top! Will be back again!

Such a lovely hotel, well located in the heart of Kilkenny, short walking distance to shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. The staff were incredibly friendly, everyone we met left such a positive impression. Such a family friendly hotel, we loved the swimming pool. Bar food was great. We had a large family room which was very comfortable. There was a discount for hotel residents in the multi-story car park across from the hotel . We will definitely stay again.

Great location. Pleasant staff. Room noisy. Generator outside window kicks in at 6a.m. Breakfast quality poor and need to queue for hot food service.

Hackett's Bar at Seán Byrne's

20/06/2026: Found exactly what I was looking for with a chill pub outside the city center. A city self park is across the street. As soon as i walked in I knew this was a hang for me. The bar was chill with a community feel. Mostly men were gathered watching Hurling on the TV. There is also an adjacent too. I got a pint of Guinness at the bar. The bartender was friendly enough and price was good at under 8 euro. Fantastic tasting brew. It's a solid pub in Kildare.

30/07/2025: Have had the pleasure of eating here twice over a few days. Brunch/Breakfast on a busy Saturday... pancakes excellent with bacon and maple syrup. And a kids portion of Nutella pancakes all went down a treat We had beetroot and avocado toast which was lovely could have eaten more. Was nearby for lunch on a second occasion and the food didn't disappoint. Burger and fries where tasty. Kids sliders and chips went down a treat. Missed out on dessert as it was closing time. Coffee was good. Both occasions staff where very nice and friendly service was quick. Will be back!
24/07/2025: Had the most amazing birthday breakfast for my wife at Doppio’s and couldn’t fault a single thing. The staff were warm, welcoming, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and special. We ordered the full Irish and the blueberry pancakes both were absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked, great quality ingredients, and full of flavour. The pancakes especially were a real hit fluffy, fresh, and packed with blueberries! I’ve also had lunch here in the past, and the steak sandwich still stands out as one of the best I’ve ever had served on a rustic baguette, packed with flavour, and cooked just right. Consistently great food, lovely atmosphere, and fantastic service. Highly recommend Doppio’s it’s a gem! 👏🍳🥩🫐
