What a lovely lovely bar, made special by the owner/staff and also the friendliness of the locals. The singer and his lovely partner.Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome. The rendition of Caladonia was beautiful, I sincerely hope we get back. John and Lynne (Scotland)😘😘

Did you know you can have coffee in a pub? We discovered it on a rainy Monday morning and were warmly welcomed by the pub owner, caretaker, and Herbie. The patriarch of a family of three, he watches over thirsty souls. Highly recommended!

Historic pub - excellent beer and a non-touristy atmosphere - Dr. Aidan MacCarthy of the British Air Force was born here in 1913, captured by the Japanese during WW2 and survived the atomic bombing of Nagasaki.

Have been coming to Macs every summer for the better part of my life now and I can say that every time is so special for us. There is always a story to be heard and such inspiration discussions to be had, about the region and about the bar’s history. The fresh crab salad & the tuna melts are my favorite ✨

Food was reasonable, with a little bit of lettuce. Could have had a few more leaves. Sanitary dated, for ladies up a few flights of stairs, through rather dark corridors, could not find a light switch, but found one with a window. Downstairs a disabled toilet, averagely clean.

Lynch's on the Pier

12/09/2025: We ate lunch at this restaurant. The staff is very friendly. The food is excellent. We had the haddock meunière. A real treat. A generous and well-presented dish. A highly recommended place.
04/09/2025: Nice corner cafe. We stopped for lunch on our Ring of Beara tour. The Cajun chicken sandwich was tasty. Just chicken in a roll, but a little spice was nice. Other sandwiches we had looks good too.

Murphy's Restaurant

30/08/2025: I ordered a salad with shrimps — it was incredible! The shrimps are huge, juicy and simply divine in taste. I also tried the duck — it was incredibly tasty, tender and well-cooked. Very satisfied, I will definitely come again!
24/08/2025: One of the best meals we’ve had in Ireland. Incredible seafood chowder including several juicy prawns. Johnny, the owner, was super friendly and took this photo for us. He also gave us some tips for a great afternoon drive! Much appreciated.
