Murphy's Restaurant in Castletownbere

Stayed in Castletownbere for a week. First two evenings we tried to eat there but they had a special event both nights. Finally on our 3rd time a charm the last night we were there we ate at Murphys. Saved the best for last. Great food and service and the owner is a really great guy that is very knowledgeable about the area and history of the area. He will give you great advice about the must hits of the Beara Peninsula.

My husband and I had a fabulous dinner at Murphy’s Restaurant in Castletownbere. We started with an excellent prawns and chorizo appetizer and then had the duck dinner and the leg of lamb dinner. We finished with the pavlova. Each dinner had plentiful sides of potatoes, carrots, parsnips, green beans and red cabbage. Everything was fresh, abundant and delicious. Service was very good. We had a lovely chat with the 3rd generation chef/owner who not only cooked a great meal but also made some nice recommendations for our trip. We very highly recommend Murphy’s to everyone coming to the Beara Peninsula.

Fantastic food, got lots of meals as takeaway to Berehaven Lodges. great service too.
