I was in sugrues multiple times last week and during my trip to west cork, it is a lovely small little restaurant. The food is gorgeous, and the staff are brilliant. All the fish and meat are fresh from the local fisheries and butchers. Highly recommend checking this restaurant out if you are in castletownbere.

A great selection of cakes, which were constantly replenished while we were there. Friendly staff, good coffee โ€“ what more could you want? :-)

Walked into Sugrues and the whole place erupted into applause ๐Ÿ‘. Don't be disappointed if this isn't the case for you, but if you've just ran the Beara Way Ultra you'd deserve it. The Full Irish and cinnamon French toast ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹(yummy) and a pot of tea with big cups. The Breakfast menu is great (best I've ever seen) it has something for everyone. Got a Coffee to takeaway also very good.

Fabulous! Excellent service, yummy food and very dog friendly. I couldn't decide what to have, so the lovely lady made up a dish just for me! My dog was made so welcome, they gave him a sausage (checked with me first ๐Ÿ‘). Calm, welcoming atmosphere, fresh fish, definitely worth a visit ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I canโ€™t believe we found such a gem right in the middle of Castletown-Bearhaven. The food was perfectly cooked and tasted incredible. A huge thanks to the host for being so welcoming with our dogs. They even offered them water and food, which was such a nice touch. Itโ€™s definitely a great spot for a relaxed family breakfast or lunch.

Amazing food and friendly staff .I went for cake with my to daughters. The cake was moist and wasnโ€™t dry at all . The reason I left 4 stars is because my eldest ordered sparkling water but she got black current cordial. She was very disappointed but didnโ€™t say it because she didnโ€™t want to be rude . Good food but should pay attention to orders

Lynch's on the Pier

19/04/2026: We had the room with sea view. There is a charger for EV nearby and plenty of parking in front which is part of the port. The place is perfect for us. Since we checked in on Saturday afternoon and their restaurant is closed on Sundays, they provided us some scones with butter and jam upon arrival. There were cookies too. The room was spacious, warm, and clean. Just note that you might hear the neighbouring room. Smooth stay and right at the heart of the town.
26/02/2026: was great we booked on the road on the fly, rather than booking.com, lady was nice and rather than booking via the website we went straight through the business itself as we saved 10 euro and breakfast was includedbefore 125 off peak one night deluxe room I think it was.. we were happy and stayed there but in the morning we were told breakfast wasn't included was room only that was the only thing came back on us but staff are all lovely and food was great!
