Delicious from start to finish. A typical Irish pub with old-fashioned decor. The sea chowder was delicious and the main course was generous. The ladies were very friendly. It was great!

Murphy's Restaurant

15/02/2026: Stayed in Castletownbere for a week. First two evenings we tried to eat there but they had a special event both nights. Finally on our 3rd time a charm the last night we were there we ate at Murphys. Saved the best for last. Great food and service and the owner is a really great guy that is very knowledgeable about the area and history of the area. He will give you great advice about the must hits of the Beara Peninsula.
13/10/2025: My husband and I had a fabulous dinner at Murphy’s Restaurant in Castletownbere. We started with an excellent prawns and chorizo appetizer and then had the duck dinner and the leg of lamb dinner. We finished with the pavlova. Each dinner had plentiful sides of potatoes, carrots, parsnips, green beans and red cabbage. Everything was fresh, abundant and delicious. Service was very good. We had a lovely chat with the 3rd generation chef/owner who not only cooked a great meal but also made some nice recommendations for our trip. We very highly recommend Murphy’s to everyone coming to the Beara Peninsula.

Lynch's on the Pier

19/04/2026: We had the room with sea view. There is a charger for EV nearby and plenty of parking in front which is part of the port. The place is perfect for us. Since we checked in on Saturday afternoon and their restaurant is closed on Sundays, they provided us some scones with butter and jam upon arrival. There were cookies too. The room was spacious, warm, and clean. Just note that you might hear the neighbouring room. Smooth stay and right at the heart of the town.
26/02/2026: was great we booked on the road on the fly, rather than booking.com, lady was nice and rather than booking via the website we went straight through the business itself as we saved 10 euro and breakfast was includedbefore 125 off peak one night deluxe room I think it was.. we were happy and stayed there but in the morning we were told breakfast wasn't included was room only that was the only thing came back on us but staff are all lovely and food was great!
