What do I need to say about this place that hasn't already been said? I keep coming back any time I'm in the area and it never disappoints. Lovely staff, great music, brilliant atmosphere, always fun.

An authentic pub with very nice and friendly service. We had delicious mussels from the local Kenmare Bay and a Guinness 0.0 on tap. It tastes really good for a non-alcoholic beer. MacCarthy's is definitely a must-visit if you're in Castleberetown.

Delicious from start to finish. A typical Irish pub with old-fashioned decor. The sea chowder was delicious and the main course was generous. The ladies were very friendly. It was great!

07/06/2026: I was in sugrues multiple times last week and during my trip to west cork, it is a lovely small little restaurant. The food is gorgeous, and the staff are brilliant. All the fish and meat are fresh from the local fisheries and butchers. Highly recommend checking this restaurant out if you are in castletownbere.

18/07/2026: Fantastic, unpretentious restaurant with great staff and generous portions. Everything we had was fresh and excellently seasoned. The smash burger was one of the best I have had in months.
