Maddens in Westport

We had a very relaxed meal in Maddens. The food was very tasty and the staff very pleasant and professional. Will be back

After a long day biking we wanted somewhere nice to rest up and eat. Walked by and on a whim went in, early for Ireland but best decision ever. Four great meals came out, well presented and delicious. Recommend the lamb rack, everything about it was just right. The staff were lovely as well, very good communication from them, keep it up.

A very nice restaurant with a small lunch menu at normal prices. Unfortunately, the quality was rather mediocre, and the food didn't live up to expectations or the price. The salad, which was offered as a full meal, was more like a side dish, and it also lacked chickpeas and croutons. The dressing wasn't "French" either, but a simple vinaigrette. Nothing dramatic, but not to be expected. Too bad.

The feather blade beef and fish & chips were tasty, but the restaurant should work on their vegetarian options: pasta with vegetables and just a bit of cheese isn't a proper dish and won't make a vegetarian happy. Moreover, the apple pie wasn't good and probably not homemade. Apart from those two downsides, there's a nice atmosphere and the service was very good.

Drinking an Irish Coffee in Ireland seems obvious! But in the end it's complicated and luckily we stumbled upon Maddens who welcomed us very late and allowed us to taste this delicious "drink".
