Maldron Hotel Sandy Road Galway in Galway

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights over Easter weekend. We overall enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect and easy to get to and a 24hr shop right next door. Walking distance to Eyre square and plenty of shopping. We decided to get breakfast on our last morning which was 15 euro each. We both thought this a bit expensive wondering we got dinner both days for a similar price. We arrived for breakfast at half 10 and there was barely any hot food left and they didn't restock it. There was enough for 1 sausage and 1 egg each and a few pieces of bacon which we both felt wasn't nice. There was a table beside us who had mountains of food on their plates and asking for takeaway boxes which was frustrating as we were still left hungry. This was really disappointing for the price and I don't think half 10 is too late to have no hot food left. I think 378 euro for a two nights stay seems quite expensive but understand this is quite average for hotel prices in Ireland as of lately.

I was here on vaction/holiday for 3 days and had a awesome time. The rooms are very nice. The food at the restaurant was very good. The ice cream waffle is a must. Also the laundry service is same day. The staff were very helpful as well. You do not get a better deal for your money.

We had a lovely 3 night stay, breakfast was lovely and plentyful

We got the family room. Bed is firm and comfortable. Place is pretty new with aircond or heater in the room that we can control. 22 mins walk to the Eyre Square. Or take the 407 bus from the stop just beside the hotel. There's Apache pizza next door for takeaways. Dunnes and Tesco can be reached with a short walk. Alternatively, the 24 hour service station have snacks. Breakfast is the usual cereals and Irish breakfast buffet spread. Parking is free.

Restaurant empty yet, service was slow. Staff are friendly when you interact. I did like the place, location and food when it did arrive. A suggestion, please train your staff to understand the financial connection between customers and service.

This is several time that Google asks me to comment this hotel but I only visited the petrol station next to it. And they never asked about that one. So I decided I will give comment here. It's the best petrol station I ever seen. There is even hotel in there. 🤣
