Maldron Hotel Shandon Cork City in Cork

Excellent. One of the hotel mistakes of the trip.

Stayed here recently while going to a concert at the Marquee. The beds were a bit uncomfortable but then as you got used to it they were comfortable. Room was in a good state was quite small but it had a bathroom which was a decent size with a toilet sink and bathtub. It also had a treble and chair and a vanity with a chair the view wasn’t great. From the outside you’d think the hotel was a hostel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. One of the mugs had dirt in them and there was a spider on the bed only noticed when we got up so i’d say the spider was alive and then died because of bags and also laying on bed. Carpet in the corridors was horrendous. Stained and looked like 2 people had a drink and just spilt it while walking along on the carpets. Don’t generally know if that’s the hotels fault for the carpets not being clean or the guests. Did not eat or drink here. Price was very good only 175 euro especially since the all ireland was on. Hotels normally look a bit fancy this did not look like that on the outside maybe in the lobby bar and stairs but everywhere else not so much.

The heat in the room was unbearable. No air-conditioning and the thermometer on my backpack stated 33c.

The hotel was lovely and well kept, rooms a bit small if you're a family but nice. Staff are so amazing here especially one of the waiters Vivienne, she was so happy and helpful and my son loved her bubbly attitude, especially when she told him there was pancakes. Also Aaron in the bar he was also so nice and helpful. The location was perfect so close to everything. We will return.

Stayed with family, big size room for 5 so clean and comfortable, food was fabulous and swimming pool nice temperature & clean, topped off with amazing staff throughout hotel, would highly recommend for family break, 3 minute walk to city centre

Kind, courteous and helpful Showers were amazing, food tasty with good variety. Close to city center and public transportation. Only drawback was humidity in the room. No AC, but a fan was provided and you could open a window slightly. Thank you to the Maldron for the wonderful stay. 🙂

We booked a baby shower in the hotel, from start to finish the staff were brilliant to deal with. From ease of booking, to the efficency of the staff and cleanliness of hotel I couldn't recommend enough. The food was beautiful and nothing was too much for the staff. A special thanks to vivenne who went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed. Will definitely return. Thanks to all who were working today

Toilet would not flush, safe would not lock. No maintenance on weekends

A wonderful stay, great staff, and especially Salua who was very helpful and kind. We will definitely come back
