Castletownsend itslef is a favourite place of mine and my girlfriends and Mary Ann's makes it that bit better. Always served with a nice greeting here. I have never tried the food but it looks and smells amazing so I'll have to sometime.
Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. Staff outstanding food outstanding Guinness poured to perfection. If I had one negative toilets weren't the cleanest however it did not deter me from having a wonderful meal in a fantastic atmosphere
On the surface, a warm and thoroughly well stocked bar and restaurant. My thanks to our host, Fergus who took the trouble to send me the menu via email. What a pleasant surprise it was to experience the food. It was superb, our compliments to the chef. But a special shout out must go to Claire, Castletownshend's soon to be answer to Professor Elizabeth Tanner. Hold on to her for as long as you can Fergus. Claire was kind, genuine and a complete credit to your establishment. Thank you all for a lovely experience. Mark and Deirdre.
Had a lovely lunch in here today. Staff were warm and friendly. Food was phenomenal. Would recommend the crab salad for starters. Pictured below is the specials dish of scallops and pork belly. Thanks team
Delicious mixed cuisine, great service and a feast for the eyes with the local artwork. Fergus is a treat to chat with as are his lovely staff, Clare & Thomas as well as the Barry Keoghan lookalike. Treat yourselves to this village 'bohemia'.
Loved this little place! So much character, I loved the history and the cozy atmosphere. Felt great to get in out of the cold. The food was excellent. We're vegetarians and Fergus and his staff made a wonderful meal - couscous stuffed aubergine with many delicious sides and veggies, and we had spinach and cheese stuffed ravioli, again with delicious sides. We also had the soup of the day, piping hot vegetables with fresh breads.
