Great food and service, very pleasant atmosphere

Loved this little place! So much character, I loved the history and the cozy atmosphere. Felt great to get in out of the cold. The food was excellent. We're vegetarians and Fergus and his staff made a wonderful meal - couscous stuffed aubergine with many delicious sides and veggies, and we had spinach and cheese stuffed ravioli, again with delicious sides. We also had the soup of the day, piping hot vegetables with fresh breads.

Really enjoyed the food at this beautiful pub/restaurant. Location was nice beside a pier. Excellent quality of food, service was fast and very friendly. Would definitely go again!

Everyone we spoke with recommended this place and they definitely were not wrong! In a month in Ireland, this was the only place we returned to for dinner more than once. The food, ambiance, owner, and bar selections were all outstanding. We had a large group of diners both times and they did take reservations with no problem seating us together. Everything from the seafood chowder to fish and chips to the mussels was outstanding. Fergus not only greeted us but entertained us with his knowledge and interest in American politics and with the list of people who had been in his establishment. People were coming in from around the region and a chartered group also arrived as we were leaving - it's worth a drive. And head on down the steep street to the pier next to the castle at the bottom for some beautiful views.

Was there this weekend, is absolutely wonderful! Food is excellent, owner is friendly and welcoming. Exactly what you hope to find in local venue. If you're anywhere in the area, is well worth a stop. We will definitely be back.

Popped in here for lunch after having a quick Google of restaurants in the area. What a lucky find! This is not a seafood restaurant however there is a definite emphasis on fish. Hubby and I both went for the fish and chips which was fresh haddock, beautifully served with scrumptious fries. All dishes on the menu were competitively priced as was the wine list. There is a lovely atmosphere with pleasant, efficient staff. Afterwards we went upstairs to the art gallery which is a lovely addition to the premises. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch in Mary Ann’s and next time we find ourselves in West Cork, it will be top of our list. I would advise reserving a table, it’s a busy spot.
