Mary Ann's Bar in Castletownshend

We had a lovely evening at Mary Ann’s. Highly recommend this place. Service was friendly and prompt. The pints and meals were perfect! We had the pints in the garden and then moved inside for dinner. We enjoyed excellent scallops and hake dishes. We made a reservation.

We by chance came upon Mary Ann's today in Castletownshend and oh my goodness the food is out of this world! We're Irish, from Dublin and we brought our friends to West Cork for the first time, and we all agreed it's the best food we've had so far! For me, the mussels were the best I've ever had. My husband had the open crab sandwich which was insanely good and everyone else had the chowder which were devoured by all the kids!! The pub is one of those gorgeous oldy worldy pubs with so much character. The staff were so attentive and friendly. It was €65 per family including alcohol which was incredible value. You need to go out of your way to eat here! You will be very happy you did.

A very nice pub, but €21 for a Guinness and a Spritz is €6 more than in Baltimore, so we didn't stay for a meal.

I cannot recommend this place enough- it’s a must- do if you’re anywhere in the area! We stayed in the area for vacation and visited Mary Ann’s with our two kids. The garden was peaceful, charming, and cozy seating- perfect for two kids. The waiters were so attentive and friendly, and you can tell it’s a well-loved local spot. And holy cow the food is INCREDIBLE- we had a couple of their seafood specials and the burger and we will be talking about this meal for years to come!!! Everything was absolutely delicious, perfectly prepared and flavorful. Mary Ann’s is amazing, you don’t want to miss it!

I had one of their specials, confit of duck & duck breast, and it was excellent. Very well cooked and lovely orange sauce. There is a nice outdoor area at the back of the restaurant with motorized sunshades covering a large area. The main restaurant area is an old pub. Friendly helpful staff in a casual restaurant setting. I will try to get back to try other items on their menu.

A beautiful, rustic pub; we had a fantastic meal. I had scallops and my mother had fish and chips (the best she'd ever had). Everything was incredibly fresh and melted in your mouth. The service was extremely friendly and fast! And the dessert was delicious too!
