McCambridge's in Galway

I visited Galway for the day from Cork City and happened upon this wonderful café. I had the Cubano sandwich, paired with a small bottle of Brisa Merlot and a chilled San Pellegrino. Everything was exquisite — simple things done beautifully well. Upstairs, the view overlooking the main thoroughfare was the perfect finishing touch: sitting by the window, watching the world drift by, with the rhythm and charm of Galway unfolding below. A truly memorable little escape.

Had a wonderful experience at McCambridge. The store has such a warm and inviting atmosphere and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Everyone was happy to chat, offer recommendations and make the experience feel personal and relaxed. The hot chocolate was absolutely delicious rich, smooth, and easily one of the best we’ve had. The whisky sampling was also a fantastic touch and made the visit even more enjoyable. It was a great way to try something new in such a comfortable and enjoyable setting. A lovely shop with amazing products, great service, and a genuinely pleasant atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit when in Galway.

I am commenting specifically on the selection of local whiskey and spirits. They have a very large one, including lots of mini bottles or good Irish whiskey. They let you try a bunch or local whiskey and gin for free, along with some competent explanations. Overall, I'm very impressed with this store and will definitely be coming again the next time I'm in Ireland.

Great store with great selection of Irish food products. Excellent staff and customer service. The lunch deli counter has been my regular Galway lunch sandwich spot for a few years now.

I’m new to the city, but McCambridge’s already feels like it’s going to be one of my favourite spots. Amazing deli and grocery selection, great quality produce and local treats—and the café upstairs is a lovely bonus. Always worth a visit.
