Such a welcome! Pádraic is the best host I’ve ever met, genuinely friendly and welcoming, sorry we could only stay for a couple of drinks but will make sure the n xx time I’m here we’ll stay for the music! There were a few young lads out back with a guitar and singing, proper Irish pub. Go raibh maith agat a Phaidraic as an fáilteachas, beidh mé ar ais cinnte!!!

Has to be the most welcoming pub in Ireland. Just stopped in for an afternoon, but could have stayed there all night long. Must come back for the live music!

Honestly the most amazing bar in the west of Ireland! So welcoming and got chatting to people all over Ireland on holidays in Belmullet. The locals were just as pleasant and being dog friendly would get it 6 stars if google allowed.

We had such a brilliant night at McDonnell’s Bar in Béal an Mhuirthead! From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel right at home – especially thanks to Padraic, who was a true gentleman. Go raibh míle maith agat, a Phádraic, for the warm welcome and great craic! The atmosphere was lively and authentic – exactly what you'd hope for in a traditional Irish pub. The live music was absolutely fantastic, full of energy and heart, and had everyone tapping their feet and singing along. Ceol den scoth agus fíor-spraoi! If you're visiting Belmullet, don’t miss this spot. Great pints, great people, and an unforgettable night. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area. Sláinte! 🍻

Traditional pub, probably soon to be in existence for over 80 years. The owner of the house is an absolutely philanthropic, warm, generous person. Really worth a trip, an evening or several. Price-performance ratio is right, the rest of the staff is also friendly. We thank you.
