McGettigan's Cookhouse & Bar in Cork

A impressive building and lovely atmosphere. Plenty of carparking space. When you enter you'll find the restaurant on the left opposite reception. I was offered a choice of a chair at a table or a comfortable settee. The table was just the right height for both. There's a good choice of meals on the menu, some standard and some a little special. I had a lovely steak cooked just right. Only bad point was I asked for mustard and was a bit surprised to be offered the squeezey yellow mustard kids put on hotdogs. Bit of a hero to zero moment. Other than that a smashing place. Just bring your own mustard.

The restaurant is very nice and the waiter served us immediately and very kindly. Unfortunately, the food wasn't so great. I had the burrata. On the plate there was one burrata and only five thin slices of tomato. That seemed a bit meager, even if it was just an appetizer, they could have used more tomatoes. My partner had the pasta al scoglio. It was unfortunately not good. The tomato sauce looked like it had been poured out of a can, and it was completely tasteless.

Great place on the north side of the City for a dinner. Lovely place, great food and beautiful scenery. Highly recommended!

Nice hotel. But not an easy walk into the town centre.

Lovely athmosphere, quiet, comfortable. Pizza was pricey but lived up to it.
