McHugh's Pub in Carrick-on-shannon

17/07/2026: Absolutely delicious! The ribs were so tender they practically fell off the bone just by looking at them. My colleague ordered the smooth-fleshed seafood straight from the fryer. It was also outstanding. The ambiance is reminiscent of a grandmother's living room in the 1950s. Very stylish and fitting, in my opinion. The service was also very competent and able to answer any questions about the restaurant's cuisine. Anyone who eats here is making the right choice. You should know. 14/07/2026: First time dining here : Meat platter for two expected more meat for the cost very little meat on the ribs wasnt filling enough for 2 people . Pasta dishes needed more flavor and more tomatoes n veg within the dish. The kids bolognese was delicious. The staff are wonderful the place is cool. Bit on the expensive side considering the size of portions we felt. Glass of wine €8.50 across the road was €6.50 big jump of price difference.
