I believe this may be the best pub in Ireland. Great beer, great value, spotless clean and great service. The locals are most welcoming. From someone who has been in several hundred pubs around Ireland I can attest to the pure quality of this establishment.

Murphy's Restaurant

13/10/2025: My husband and I had a fabulous dinner at Murphy’s Restaurant in Castletownbere. We started with an excellent prawns and chorizo appetizer and then had the duck dinner and the leg of lamb dinner. We finished with the pavlova. Each dinner had plentiful sides of potatoes, carrots, parsnips, green beans and red cabbage. Everything was fresh, abundant and delicious. Service was very good. We had a lovely chat with the 3rd generation chef/owner who not only cooked a great meal but also made some nice recommendations for our trip. We very highly recommend Murphy’s to everyone coming to the Beara Peninsula.

23/09/2025: We enjoyed fish and chips with a salad. Appetizing. Friendly and welcoming service. Good value for money. Free parking nearby. Enjoyed the meal.
13/09/2025: The staff at the cafe were so lovely! The coffee was delicious and the cakes are to die for! Would highly recommend stopping by.
