Been trying to go here for a while but always left it too late to book so booked this for our Christmas lunch a while ago. We were on the Christmas set menu and it was very good. Food, service and atmosphere were all brilliant. Really enjoyed our meal start to finish.

I had reservations on December 6th at 9:15 PM and was seated immediately. I was also in contact with the restaurant before my arrival and they were all welcoming and friendly. The burnt end spring rolls were good and the short rib was the highlight of my evening. It was tender and the chimichurri was an excellent touch. I had never had panna cotta before and I tried it. I didn’t enjoy it but do not think it’s a reflection of the restaurant. Overall, it was a really great experience and if I visit the city again I look forward to going back.

Mister S is amazing! I had US colleagues over in Dublin for a work event and they were all blown away by the food – and the wines were excellent too!! We had an incredible meal and a fantastic experience, and I will be bringing people back again for sure.

We chose to sit by the window because the photos suggested the tables for two were quite close together ... something I personally don’t love, though I understand small venues in busy areas need to maximize space. The window seating turned out to be more comfortable than expected: plenty of table space, and the stools had light cushioning and back support, which was appreciated. The food was very tasty and met expectations from all the positive reviews. My only minor criticism is the size of the prawn starter - just 3 prawns and a small slice of toast. It was delicious, but a couple more prawns and double the toast would make it perfect. The highlight for us was the glazed pork chop (surprisingly, not the sirloin). Desserts were excellent too - the panna cotta and chocolate mousse were both spot on. Wine was reasonably priced for Dublin city, and the Portuguese red was a solid choice. Service was friendly, and the overall vibe was relaxed and casual. A great spot for good food without any fuss.

My steak was very tasty, but making it mandatory to order two courses would put me off going back.

Mister S. Having received mentions in both The Sunday Times 100 best Irish Restaurants, and the Michelin Guide 2024 (to name but two), Mister S on Dublin’s Camden St Lower has acquired a reputation for creating simple yet stunning plates by cooking great Irish produce over fire. Mister S’s mantra is to use “better meat, sustainable fish stocks, and to support local ethical farming”, and the restaurant is passionate about the wonderful flavours created by live fire cooking. We called in early on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant was buzzing, and the amazing aromas of charcoal, wood and smoke were already emanating from the open kitchen. Our server, Rebecca, was a delight. Efficient, informative, and exuding fun and friendliness. We enjoyed a terrific bottle of Portuguese Adega de Penalva, while we decided on our food order. Eventually, we plumped for the refreshing Sliced Tuna, with Watermelon in a piquant Aguachile, with crispy Tostada, and a dish of Charred Leeks on Romesco, with creamy Mozzarella. To follow, the Halibut fillet was smoky and delicious, with Mussels in a rich Bisque Sauce, and the Cauliflower had been treated with the same care and attention as its meaty alternatives -perfectly charred, tender, and full of flavour, served with Chermoula and Pomegranate. And the Triple Cooked Fried Potatoes with Onion Salt were golden, crunchy treats-especially dipped in the garlicky Aioli. Dessert was also fantastic; a wobbly, yet perfectly firm in texture Orange and Vanilla Panna Cotta in a gorgeous Saffron Syrup. All in all, Mister S delivers wonderfully smoky, delicious dishes in an informal setting, with excellent service. We’ll definitely be returning. Those grilled prawns at the next table looked too good to miss! Next time! #misters #TheSundayTimes #MichelinGuide #dublin

We snagged a reservation to celebrate our anniversary. We are so thrilled we did. The service is so warm and kind. The food is beautiful and delicious! They even took a Polaroid, of us, to mark the occasion. If you’ll be in Dublin, definitely make a reservation here! You will be so happy you did! It’s an easy walk from The Shelbourne and St Stephen’s Green.

14/09/2025: I've been to this pub (just for a glass of water, that's all) about few times. It's a very nice place. The staff are friendly especially Alan and Fiona themselves. Fiona is a lovely girl, isn't she?
