We only went to the bar.
Great setting.
Very friendly staff.
Beautiful view.

Absolutely top class.
We visited Ballyvaughan this weekend as a large kayaking group with friends and family and ate both nights in Monks.
The staff were lovely and very engaging, happy to make recommendations on the food and chat even though it was busy.
The portions are very generous and the food quality is fantastic.
There is probably only one place in Ireland where the fish, on the fish burger is actually bigger than the buns. Monks!
The fish and chips was lovely on the first night and the fish pie I had the second night was out of this world. (Do yourself a favour and squeeze the lemon over the top)
As a fussy Guinness drinker I don't often trust Guinness outside of a few select pubs. The Guinness in Monk's is absolutely fantastic. Cold and creamy.
We were staying in a cottage beside it, but can only imagine staying here would be as top class as the staff, service and food.
very child friendly too.

We went for dinner, the food is very good but honestly the price is higher than the quality-to-quantity ratio. I imagine you're paying for the location and the views. The fish burger, given the description and price, is expected to be more spectacular, but it's very good, as is the fish and chips. The staff is very friendly and the place is beautiful.

We had an overwhelmingly positive experience at Monks. Fabulous rooms, clean and modern. King size beds with comfortable mattresses guarantee a good nights sleep. The location is amazing and the hotel has views across the harbour from the rooms and the bar/ restaurant. The staff gave us a warm welcome and all were very helpful during our stay. The restaurant was equally fabulous, it is head and shoulders above any of the others in the locality. We come to this area often due to family commitments, going forward we will only stay at Monks availability permitting.

Delicious! If I was on death row, I’d have the seafood chowder and a pint of Guinness as my last meal just before they sat me down on the hot heat

We had a wonderful stay at Monks. Rooms are priced well, the restaurant was wonderful, very tasteful decor and design. My only problem was the parking lot is not equipped to handle all the guests, but there is plentiful parking on the street, which is not far. We would happily stay here again!

Having stayed in a range of dog friendly accommodation across Ireland, I have to say this has been one of our very best experiences. The relaxed, 'home from home' atmosphere, fabulous setting and genuinely welcoming staff made for a truly memorable break.
Looking forward to our return trip already !

The food is good quality. The prices aren't exactly cheap. Delicious desserts. A wide selection of beer. When crowded, it can get stuffy and noisy. Sometimes the restaurant plays live music. The hotel is cozy, the rooms are clean, and the service is good. Behind the main entrance, there's private parking for guests. There's a charging station for electric cars. The establishment caters primarily to tourists and accommodates groups traveling by bus. The restaurant is dog-friendly.
