Beautiful restaurant with the most amazing views. Wonderful atmosphere with excellent staff. Fabulous menu with excellent wine choices. We look forward to returning when next home in Ireland. Continued success with all that you do.

Delicious! If I was on death row, I’d have the seafood chowder and a pint of Guinness as my last meal just before they sat me down on the hot heat

We had a wonderful stay at Monks. Rooms are priced well, the restaurant was wonderful, very tasteful decor and design. My only problem was the parking lot is not equipped to handle all the guests, but there is plentiful parking on the street, which is not far. We would happily stay here again!

Having stayed in a range of dog friendly accommodation across Ireland, I have to say this has been one of our very best experiences. The relaxed, 'home from home' atmosphere, fabulous setting and genuinely welcoming staff made for a truly memorable break.
Looking forward to our return trip already !

The food is good quality. The prices aren't exactly cheap. Delicious desserts. A wide selection of beer. When crowded, it can get stuffy and noisy. Sometimes the restaurant plays live music. The hotel is cozy, the rooms are clean, and the service is good. Behind the main entrance, there's private parking for guests. There's a charging station for electric cars. The establishment caters primarily to tourists and accommodates groups traveling by bus. The restaurant is dog-friendly.

I have to say that today, I had the best fish and chips ever. What was great is that the plate was presented well with a decent colorful side salad, dressing and seeds. Not like some other places that have boring mushy peas and a few leaves of salad without any taste. What also stands out is that it wasn't the typical oily beer battered fish but had a nice crispy texture finding the balance. Chip portion was just right and on the point, thick chips with a good golden texture. Our table also had the fish pie and again top quality, great portion size with good fish mix and salad. This was properly baked and some other places serve it like a soup that is watery and no taste. Here it was how you'd expect a fish pie. Top marks to the chef today.

Monks Guest house, food and bar on the pier and seafront of Ballyvaughan. A beautiful location. Our room had a view out to sea and the pier, spotlessly clean, beds and pillows were so comfortable. Everything catered for. Susan in reception was so welcoming when we arrived. Lovely natural Irish girl. She was so helpful and organised a local taxi for us later that evening. We had lunch in the bar. Fabulous open crab sandwich and my friend had homemade soup and brown bread. Desert of apple crumble and ice cream was amazing. Food was lovely. We had breakfast the following morning and it was excellent with great choices. Plenty of everything. Sausages were really tasty. Avacado and poached eggs. My friends had the full irish. All of a high quality. Staff were lovely.
We will definitely return to this property. Very convenient to discover the beautiful Burren area. There are fabulous walks and hikes. Its a very special and unique place.

It was our first full day in Ireland and the stress level was up. Both our phones had run out of power, our outlet converter was gone, and we were looking at a 4 hour drive to Belfast on minimal sleep. We stopped at a gas station and found something that would plug into an electrical outlet but nothing that would work in our car. We decided to stop for a quick meal at Monks to see if they would let us charge our phones while we had our meal and drinks. Thankfully, not only did they let us but they found a second outlet and plug so we could charge both our phones at the same time. The chips were excellent, my first Guinness was a treat, and the staff as a whole was extremely nice.
I will definitely remember the bartender's pierogi recipe as well!
