Monks restaurant is incredible! We were recommended it by our airbnb host and it was possibly the best restaurant we visited on the entire trip. Authentic, great prices, and amazing food. Absolutely worth the visit.

Superb seafood and excellent service and atmosphere. Loved it so much we came back again in the same week.

The wind howled all night, sounded like a screaming woman. Difficult to sleep with the noise.

We went with friends and had a lovely meal .The waitress was very nice and helpful.Lovely views to top it all off .

Had dinner here today, customer service was excellent, seated us quick even though extremely busy. Kids meals were fab, mussels for 7.50 and special was delicious, pan fried seabass with herb mashed potato that I'd love the recipe for! The fish and chips were best I've had too. Beautiful food with great service in an amazing setting

Perfect restaurant by the sea, the goulash with Guinness sauce and mashed potatoes was a poem and the whiskey recommendation was very good.

Se avessi potuto disegnarmi un posto stupendo, perfetto dove trascorrere una bellissima serata con la mia famiglia, durante la nostra vacanza in Irlanda, sarebbe stato proprio The Monks. Abbiamo affittato un piccolo cottage qui vicino per trascorrere qualche piacevole ora al giorno in relax, dopo aver visitato le vicine attrazioni e Galway, e la prima sera siamo andati a piedi a cena in questo piccolo angolo di Paradiso. La cucina è eccellente, con prodotti freschissimi e locali. Io e mio figlio ci siamo divisi le vongole, come antipasto, ma è stato un peccato non averne presa una porzione ciascuno, perché erano le migliori che avessi mai assaggiato. Mio marito invece - come sempre da quando siamo arrivati in Irlanda - ha scelto le ostriche e le ha trovate squisite. Una piacevole novità sono le ostriche gratinate, che nessuno di noi aveva mai assaggiato. Considerando che io preferisco il mio cibo morto e cotto, per me meritano un 10! Come secondo, mio figlio e mio marito hanno preso il fish and chips, un classico, ma preparato davvero a regola d'arte, ed io mi sono goduta uno splendido salmone dalla cottura assolutamente perfetta, accompagnato da verdure di stagione freschissime e croccanti e da un purè di patate fenomenale. Con tre birre, di cui una analcolica, acqua e servizio incluso, abbiamo speso poco più di 100€ (in tre!)... se passate qui vicino, non perdetevelo per niente al mondo! Troverete i veri sapori dell'Irlanda più autentica, un'accoglienza elegante, gentilissima e sorridente (Grazie Susan e Angela... siete meravigliose e si vede bene che amate tanto il vostro lavoro!) e d una vista sulla baia davvero impagabile. Ci sono posti all'interno, in veranda o anche sulla terrazza sul mare, se non si teme il fresco. Non saprei davvero che cosa desiderare di meglio... piccola nota: mi era talmente dispiaciuto venir via dopo cena che sono subito tornata la mattina per il caffè della prima colazione!

Fabulous fresh local seafood. We had the mussels to share as a starter and then the seafood plate & fish burger. Quality was second to none. Burger was all fresh fish, no filler or batter. Seafood plate had a great variety of seafood.....sublime. Great childrens menu and friendly staff. A gem of a restaurant by the pier!
