Monk's Lounge in Killarney

This was a great spot for a birthday afternoon tea! The location made it a perfect fit in our day of exploring Muckross house and farm. The sandwiches were decent (and generously portioned) and the desserts and scones were outstanding. The tea itself was exceptional! I am tea aficionado and the blends here were first-rate. They also give you control over the steeping process complete with hourglass timer. Both the service and the lounge itself adopts a modern, cosy while still elegant approach to afternoon tea that made the experience a nice break in the middle of a busy day.

Delicious food and drinks. We had lunch here right before we checked out of the Muckross Hotel and Spa. Wonderful service and atmosphere.

The Monk’s Lounge is really top notch and caters well to everyone. We came in for lunch with two children and they were very kind and accommodating. We had an absolutely delicious salmon lunch and fantastic drinks. Our only negative is that we ordered dessert and tea and they completely forgot after we had waited 45 minutes. Make sure and come closer to opening time than closing time as we noticed the staff switches out and orders can get missed. Nonetheless, very pleasant experience and fresh food. Nice large booths for handicapped or children.
