Great food and wonderful views, lovely place for dinner!

My husband and I were in Clare for two nights and ate here both evenings. On the first evening we had no reservation but the man kindly fit us in. I had the steak and my husband had the chowder and both were 10/10. I am gluten free so after taking my order the waiter came back out to tell me I couldn't have the onion rings but that they could give me sautéed mushrooms instead and so I got a huge portion of these. Instead of being made to feel like an inconvenience the staff could not have been more accommodating or helpful. On the second night my husband got fish and chips and I got the seabass. Again my meal had to be altered because of food allergies and this was no problem for the staff. Each staff member we met was so helpful and kind. My husband had Guinness both nights with his meal and said it was lovely. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Doonbeg or the surrounding area. We would recommend booking ahead as it is very popular. Thanks you Morrissey's we will be back!

Beautiful place for food, friendly staff and very relaxed

Unbelievable dinner experience. Seven of us went to Morrissey's for dinner. One of the best nights of my life. The staff are the unsung heroes of the restaurant, always smiling and quick to ask if you want another drink, or just checking that your food is ok. The food was amazing. When you're traveling around Ireland, you do sometimes lower expectations as you never know what you're going to get....but Morrissey's exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. We will definitely be back 👍

We didn't have a reservation, but we still managed to get a great seat by the window overlooking the terrace and the river. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Fresh bread and butter were served to all guests beforehand. For our main course, we ordered sirloin steak and buttermilk chicken. Both were delicious, especially the sauces that accompanied the dishes. For dessert, the host recommended a fantastic local whiskey. A very successful evening for us, and we would return anytime.

Gentleman waiting on us was very nice and efficient. Lady who brought out main courses and took payment was very unfriendly and made no effort to engage. Food was very nice but some dishes could do with more flavouring. Location is lovely.

Dropped in for Sunday lunch; very efficient service & food was good… but tbh; damn expensive !.. Fish & Chips; Prawn (8 prawns) linguini; one dessert; 2 coffees and 1 pint… €75 yo yo’s (plus tip).. No wonder there were only 6 other folks dining.. Check the menu / prices before booking wud be my advice..

Food and staff lovely but prices on the website much lower than what is being charged

We have eaten here several times before and had high expectations and between the food and the service we were not disappointed. A party of six plus a toddler, every single dish we ordered was top class. Notwithstanding that they were short-staffed, the people who served us did an outstanding job - they were working flat out. All round, the #1 for fine dining for in this part of the country.
