Great hotel with great views and wonderful staff. The beds were very comfy with lots of pillows. The shower had low pressure and the bathroom smelt a bit damp. The breakfast was a bit disappointing, the cooked breakfast was very salty, we only got one small teapot between 2 and the buffet was limited. Would still recommend this hotel.

We were passing through from Dublin to Connemara and were pleasantly surprised. The check-in staff were very welcoming and friendly, and despite our late arrival, we were able to have dinner in our room. Unfortunately, the very young man at breakfast was completely overwhelmed with our usual requests. Breakfast was nevertheless delicious and plentiful. We highly recommend the hotel. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished. The beds are great. It seems to be a local hotspot. One photo is from the breakfast room, the other from the balcony the following morning.

My mother and I visited for dinner this evening and it was fantastic. From the moment we entered the building, our server was incredibly polite and helpful, guided us to our seats and answered any questions we had regarding the menu and allergen information. The soup of the day was delicious and came with very nice gluten free bread, they accommodated me when I requested mash potato instead of the fries with the steak, which I may add, was cooked to perfection, well presented and the entire meal was delicious. My mother had the ham and turkey main course and she was also delighted with the meal and thought it was incredible value for money compared to other establishments we have visited while travelling. Can't recommend the place enough and will definitely visit again when passing through Ballinasloe! The view was also fantastic while enjoying the meal!

Pillar House

11/11/2024: The live music was incredibly good: I've paid for worse concerts and this one was free and with great musicians and singers. The waiter's attention was perfect. I didn't eat there, just a beer and a couple of soft drinks... But everything looked good, apparently you should eat well.
