02/04/2026: A great place for a dinner in the Balinasloe area. We went for a lunch and the staff were excellent, food was speedy and great quality. I know Balinasloe isn't exactly a bustling city but if you're in the area it's a beautiful stop off and I'd recommend you have lunch here for sure!

15/08/2025: 10/10. Visiting from Ontario, Canada. Dave was a real gem! His coffee recommendations and execution were spot on. The maple bacon bagel was excellent. Atmosphere and service was top notch. Definitely check this place out!!

09/03/2026: Yesterday we travelled over 1hr to eat in this place myself my husband and our 2 daughters and i must say im disappointed I got fish where it said fillet by far it was a fillet I never had fillet fish in any othe place that had so much bones in it I almost chocked at the table thank god i didnt give any to my 2 year old daughter the Tatar sauce was never given with the fish when we asked to get one i didnt eat it atal as it was tasteless and wasn't even a tatar. 2nd complain is that our child's burger was still red inside it was still raw in the middle. My Husbands steak sambo was like eating a rock. All too all the price he paid for our food is 100% not worth it as nothing was right...

Everything about this venue was perfect.The room was carefully prepared,the welcome genuine,the food flawless and the staff exuded warmth and professionalism.

Shearwater Hotel

09/04/2026: I recently stayed at the Shearwater Hotel for a work trip. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, and the receptionists were friendly and very helpful! I booked a double bedroom, and it was amazing—spacious, clean, and comfortable. I asked the receptionist for a dental kit, and the bathroom was well-stocked with towels, shampoo, and body wash, which was very handy. Also, housekeeping was very neat with cleaning the room.
A few notes for future guests:
• The breakfast buffet mainly features an Irish breakfast, but there are also cereals, yogurts, fruits, coffee, tea, and really nice pastries.
• The hot tub and swimming pool are shared with the gym next door, so it can get busy; I recommend going early.
• The hotel is a short walk to the city center and shops, with a Lidl across the road. There’s also a restaurant with room service, though last orders are at 8:30 PM.
I had a great stay and will definitely be back!

The service was prompt, and the staff were knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations.
