Murphy's Ice Cream in Galway

Lovely employees and incredible ice cream!! I miss the ice cream even while writing this review.

We had the gin and whiskey-laced ice creams, plus a mango and some cookie-something I’ve already forgotten ... 😎 because that’s not the point. Every bite was boozy, sweet, and just a little reckless. The rain didn’t matter, the cold didn’t matter .........standing there with melting ice cream felt like a small rebellion against the day. Murphy’s isn’t just dessert, it’s defiance served in a cone.

Great ice cream but outstanding, kind and exceedingly generous service.

Murphy's Ice Cream was good, not great. I am in the (U.S.-based) Midwest, and have some of the *the best* ice cream being made in the worlld - so I'm not an easy person to impress. Seemed to be a fair amount of overrun. And kinda thin. But it did hit the spot. Flavors were good. A Chocolate Whiskey, Strawberry, and Honeycomb...Or something like that.

We first tried Murphy’s Ice Cream in Dublin and were hooked! It is the BEST commercial ice cream I’ve ever eaten. It reminds me of the homemade ice cream that I enjoyed on the dairy farm growing up as a child. The staff at the Galway shop was just as friendly and polite as the one in Dublin. We look forward to trying the shop on Dingle next week! Our favourite flavours are chocolate and cookie. But they let you sample them all!

Amazing icecream (I recommend the chocolate whiskey flavour & the raspberry sorbet). The staff are so friendly and chatty too, and made me feel welcome.

The ice cream is delicious but that staff are why I’m giving the Galway store 5 stars. Big shoutout to Emily, her knowledge of the ice creams was fantastic but she is the friendliest person I’ve met in Ireland.
