Nando's in Cork

We've just turned up quite hungover from a night out in Cork & our server, Lisa, has just brightened our day. From the minute she sat us down she was so lovely, funny, chatty & made us feel ever-so-slightly less hungover! I've just watched her work herself silly all around the restaurant, serving, greeting, cleaning, re-arranging - all sorts, and she's done it all with a spring in her step and a huge smile. She's waving goodbye to everyone & wishing them all the best with their sundays, i'm not sure if it's the hangover or what but this amount of loveliness is something I'm not used to from a London nandos 🤣 give Lisa a raise! x

So we tried the Boneless Platter for two, €34.95. The chicken is really good, no denying that. But the quantity is just not there. I was still hungry when I left! The sides are really too small and the amount of chicken is clearly for one person, not two (look at on my picture) The sides: the coleslaw is too greasy, too much sauce. The fries are fine. The creamy mash is very good but it didn't arrive hot. And the mac and cheese is the best side, no question. The place is big, but wow is it noisy! There's constant background noise, it's not pleasant for talking. Another thing: you serve yourself for sauces and cutlery. The sauces, fair enough, it can be fun. But the cutlery, honestly, isn't that the servers' job? The toilets are very clean though. I even took a few photos, and for me that's always a good sign. The service is average. We got our food in about 15 minutes, but nothing more. So yeah, the taste is good but the portions don't match, especially for the price. Shame !!

Update 1st December 2024 Thankfully they have improved their ordering method and if you would like you can order at the till to avoid their scan and order method. Unfortunately I was disappointed with my order today. I ordered a spicy rice bowl with two chicken thighs and I was served spicy rice bowl with a flavourless chicken breast. At very first day (somewhere in July) their food was nice, but later we felt that they are not as ,good as it was. Their online ordering system is a hassle. Nandos free WiFi is very slow and it takes more than 20mins to place an order or impossible to place an order via their online system. We get to starve before we get our food everytime we visit there. So, we try to avoid this place now.

Amazing staff and welcoming atmosphere. We went to celebrate my son’s birthday and the staff could not have done more for us. They were amazing and paid attention to our needs. Thank you all for your service. And of course the food we ordered was very delicious and tasty and it arrived to our table on time

I recently visited Nando’s Mahon Point and overall had a great experience. The staff were 10/10—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was taken care of throughout our visit. The level of customer service from the team was excellent. However, one thing did stand out to me. I noticed who I presume was a manager (they had short curly hair at the back and were wearing glasses) speaking to a member of staff in what appeared to be an argument. As a customer, it was quite upsetting and uncomfortable to witness. Regardless of what the situation was, I don’t think those kinds of conversations should happen in front of customers, and I felt sorry for the staff member involved. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the rest of the team provided such excellent service and deserve recognition for the great job they do.
