Newpark Hotel Kilkenny with Escape Health Club & Spa in Kilkenny

Another great stay in The Newpark Hotel. Our daughters love this place - with so many attractions you hardly ever need to leave the grounds. Willy Wonka experience was great. Staff very nice as always. Would definitely recommend to any family as a gate-away not only for kids but adults/parents as well as kids are very well looked after so parents can actually have some time to relax (not that easy to come by these days)

I found the food a bit pricey, but I was very happy with the rooms and service. Kind of wish the pool had a bigger area for kids as well, but the Dino park more than made up for it.

Great service, but the experience doesn’t quite match the potential. The hotel itself makes a strong first impression, but overall it feels like there’s quite a bit of room for improvement to bring it fully in line with what you’d expect from a 4-star property. One of the standout positives was the service. The staff were excellent throughout our stay. We never found ourselves waiting for assistance, and they really helped create a welcoming atmosphere. That said, the hotel does feel like it could benefit from some upgrades. The food, for example, was perfectly fine, nothing was wrong with it, but it didn’t stand out in any way. For a hotel of this standard, I think it’s reasonable to expect something a bit more memorable in terms of quality and variety. They advertise a sticky toffee pudding as a signature dish but this wasn't even on the menu. There is a games room in the hotel which is best avoided. The PlayStation wasn’t working during our visit, and several of the games, such as the air hockey table, were missing pieces. Some of the other machines accepted money but didn’t function properly, which was frustrating and gave the impression that maintenance and upkeep are being overlooked. We also visited the on-site dinosaur park, and this is where the need for investment was even more noticeable. Some of the attractions weren’t fully functional, for example, parts of the “Jurassic bounce” obstacle area weren’t working, yet full price was still charged. The biggest frustration during our stay was the bar setup. Guests weren’t able to sit in the main bar unless ordering food, which meant that if you just wanted a drink, your only options were the lobby or the terrace bar. The lobby hosts live music, which is a nice touch, but the space isn’t really designed to accommodate the number of people who want to sit and enjoy it, it felt crowded and a bit disorganised. Meanwhile, the terrace bar closes quite early, so if you start your evening there, you’re eventually forced to move anyway. We stayed for two nights and encountered the exact same issue both evenings, which suggests it’s a consistent problem rather than a one-off. Overall, while we had a pleasant stay thanks to the excellent staff, the hotel doesn’t quite deliver on the expectations set by its appearance and rating. With some updates and better organisation, particularly around the bar areas and family attractions, it could be a fantastic place, but right now it falls just short.

Absolutely phenomenal stay every moment was amazing, exceptional customer service, lovely rooms, fantastic facilities! Can’t fault anything was worth every penny highly recommend!

We had a really lovely weekend I went alone with my 6 year old daughter. Can I just say the staff from the front desk to the waiters to the cleaners all absolutely so so nice and sound amazing customer service and amazing with the kids. Great touch giving the kids a goody bag on arrival my daughter loved this.The hotel is very very busy alot of kids running around playing in the lobby having fun, so if that’s not for you maybe not the best choice but the staff are so used to it genuinely 10/10 for the employees all of them, and the breakfast staff aswell absolutely amazing very busy an Stil so nice and patient with everybody. The room was perfect for us! It got so so hot in the room but once I turned off the rad and figured out the air con we were grand!! Very powerful bath and shower.The dinosaur park is a great little extra also the staff there were brilliant!!! And one guy that was really in his character was amazing! I can’t remember his name but he did tell us he is writing a book he was very funny and full of knowledge, he is a great asset to the park. I did feel my daughter was a little unphased by dinosaur theme she is 6 I feel it’s defo for younger toddlers maybe 2-5 but the inflatable bounce amazing !!! Older kids loved it and we were on it easily 6 times over the 2 days, maybe more swings would be nice as there was a little que for swings :) the food was lovely and the atmosphere was amazing, we will 100% come back and we had a great weekend.! '

Was here for an event all very good

A fantastic family friendly hotel. The lobby is spacious and welcoming. Family rooms large and comfortable. Breakfast was a delight. Staff were exceptional in all parts. Jurassic Park was lovely for a couple of hours-better when bright and dry.

Fantastic visit to Newpark hotel and Jurassic newpark. The facilities are great, the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean. However, the service in the restaurant is very poor. The staff seem untrained and cannot complete simple tasks or take basic orders properly. We stayed for 3 days and it was an unfortunate trend that continued throughout the entire stay. I will return but we will probably eat elsewhere as it was frustrating. The food was nice

Our stay at the hotel was very enjoyable. From the very beginning, the place makes a great impression – elegant wooden finishes, a stylish lift, and well-maintained corridors create a warm, classic atmosphere. The restaurant is definitely a highlight – beautiful deep-green seating, atmospheric lighting, and an impressive wine display make it a perfect setting for both breakfast and dinner. I also appreciated the attention to detail – nicely presented glasses and bottled water in the room, comfortable common areas, and the overall sense of character throughout the hotel. The only minor issue was a visible mark/scuff on the bedside table in the room. It was a small detail and did not affect the comfort of our stay, but refreshing it would make the room feel perfectly maintained. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would happily return.
