Pulled off the motorway into Cashel for lunch on our way to Bantry, a very well timed stop in a wonderful little cafe/restaurant. You step in to door and step a little bit back in time, it’s December so the open fire is lit and generating just the right amount of heat to make this place as cosy as it looks. The waiting staff are so pleasant and friendly giving the place a real family feeling. We just wanted a spot of lunch to top us up so ordered some sandwiches which came with salad and chips, so the quantity was top notch as was the quality. Real good traditional style fare, nothing fussy or extravagant just good wholesome food, served with a smile. Finished off with apple pie and custard, because why not. Ireland needs these kinds of places to remain open, to keep us in touch with our roots, the clientele here were local men of a certain age, that help anchor this place in a different era. Long may this place remain open.
