Oriel Hotel in Cork

I stayed here with my niece, I actually thought the location would have been more central to the city but it’s not. We went to the bar for a drink when we got back from a days shopping, the barmaid didn’t have a nice manner at all. My niece ordered our drinks, the barmaid decided to use the phone first, then head into a back room, it was about 10 minutes before the drink was even started(it was a cocktail & mocktail) Two barmaids were making the two drinks, eventually they were made, no straws provided, my glass was broken so I had to return it and wait for her to make a fresh drink. Cocktails tasted nice when made. Rooms were nice, beds comfy. Fire alarm went off at 6am and frightened the life out of us, my niece was panicking like mad, all the guests were up and out of their rooms to leave when a member of staff was walking around saying it’s ok there’s no fire but the alarm stayed going. Eventually it went off. Checked out at 12, no apologies from reception about the fire alarm.

Fantastic location,food was beautiful ,staff friendly,lovely area outside to enjoy a pint or two,also the leisure center caters for all age groups ,baby pool for our little babs .will definitely be back later in the year,👍👍

I had a good stay in this hotel: the establishment is beautiful, easily accessible and the reception staff are friendly. The rooms are comfortable, with a clean and well-designed bathroom. On the other hand, it’s a shame that there is no mini-bar available. The wellness facilities are a real plus: large swimming pool, jacuzzi, hammam and sauna - just remember to take a swimming cap, which is obligatory to access the swimming pool. Small important downside: the hotel restaurant. Despite its practicality, the welcome is very disappointing and the cuisine does not match. I therefore recommend the hotel, but not its restaurant.

I stayed at this hotel for one night on a business trip to Ireland. The location is not very convenient if you want to visit the city, needs a vehicle to move, but for a business trip I found it very convenient: quiet, free parking and equipped with the necessary services to work in the room. The rooms are very large, functional and equipped with many comforts, a technological upgrade could be something that should be considered (as usb sockets). There is also the gym and swimming pool, but I could not use it staying for a short time. Good breakfast, the addition of handmade products could be an added value. Great staff, very friendly and smiling that gives that touch of family to the hotel. Recommended for a business trip, less for tourism.

Clean rooms, helpful staff and in central Ballincollig

This was a great hotel to stop in for our time in cork. Rooms were comfortable and clean enough. The leisure centre and gym facilities totally make this place great value for money (gym basement 1; sauna, steam room, hot tub, lap pool on basement 2). That plus the free parking for the hire car made this a must stay! Would definitely come back!

Had our wedding there on sat ..staff could not have done anymore to help ..Looked after us from start to finish..Guests were also very happy..Food was great would recommend for any occasion..Thanks for lovely weekend x
