PHX Bistro in Dublin

It was ok but the staff struggled with english language and they had a very limited selection of drinks and wines also the spirits they only had a very limited selection. The food was good but not a great overall expirience.

We just arrived in Ireland, the weather was gray and rainy and we wanted something close to our hotel for the first night, so we knew nothing about PHX, except that we had walked passed it on our way to the hotel. When we arrived, there was no one yet in the restaurant, but the warm welcome we received from our host already started to take the slight damp from our bones, and it was only the start of a fabulous affair! The ambience was cozy with soft lights and a modern decor. The playlist was a fun mix of contemporary and 80's soft pop-rock. The food was absolutely glorious: we shared the seared beef carpaccio which was a delicious mix of crisp and tender thin beef slices with crisp capers and a truffle and garlic mix of mayonnaise and crème fraîche, some greens and Parmesan shavings; then I had the supreme of chicken, served with truffled mashed potatoes, just crisp green beans, pureed smoked carrots and Madeira jus; my husband had the flat iron steak frites served with pepper sauce and a side of mixed salad; we shared a carrot cake for dessert, the whole accompanied by an excellent Shiraz. The quality of the meat and poultry was amazing: the flat iron ( served medium rare) was super tender and flavourful and the portion was quite generous, with a delicious crust because they cook it on the charcoal grill; the chicken supreme was dense, yet tender and juicy, absolutely satisfying! The dessert didn't disappoint, with a tender carrot cake served with delicious whipped cream and crusted with walnuts. The cream itself was surprising, whipped yet with a solid texture. I am used to the more American style of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and this one just blew me away. It had more spices and was darker than what we do at home and yet I absolutely didn't miss the frosting. Thank you for a beautiful, tasty and delicious first experience of the Irish terroir products! Very nice place at a convenient and central location in Dublin. We arrived around 17 hours and were given the choice between lunch and dinner menus. Excellent burger: meat just cooked right and the cheese just perfectly melted. The fries can comoete with the ones made in Belgium. Kind and attentive staff and informal atmosphere.

A really good place to eat in Dublin! 🇮🇪 The food was delicious, the portions were a good size and everything tasted fresh. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed and cozy. We especially liked that the place had an authentic Irish atmosphere and the food was high quality. We could definitely come here again – I highly recommend it! ❤️

Food was really good! Ordered the fish and Chips as main and a beef carpaccio as starter. They have set menus available for a reasonable price. The dessert (Brownie with Belgium chocolate) was absolutely the star of the meal, a perfect 10/10 for me. The only thing is that service is a bit slow, we arrived pretty hungry so it was a bad matchup but just to keep that in mind.
