Loved every aspect of dining here. I ordered the boxty and coddle with a glass of wine. Dining alone isn’t for the weak but somehow, I didn’t feel lonely. My server, the owner’s daughter, was very kind and attentive. I felt like I’ve known this place for years. The food was delicious and I wish I hadn’t had 2 pints of Guinness at The Temple Bar Pub before arriving, to squeeze in dessert, but I was stuffed. I love that they didn’t skimp on the truffle with the boxty and sausage within the coddle stew was plentiful. The price tag is well worth the experience. I would go back again and again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, TWICE OVER!!!

Fantastic meal at the pigs ear. All 3 courses were absolutely delicious plus the staff were super friendly and really knew the menu and history behind the menu well! We had a fab evening and are still talking about the Mulligatawny Pie 😆

How to review this place..? We were at National Museum of Ireland and decided to visit. We checked the menu on line and agreed on it because of the variety and authentic Irish food but didn't make a reservation, we just walked in and we were ambushed by the "manager" asking us to check the menu because..(his words) "DO YOU HAVE A RESERVATION"?? "THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR COFFEE AND SANDWICHES" But anyway we were sat at our table and when we asked if we can have a different one he said.. "NO...THIS IS YOUR TABLE"!!! We had mixed feelings about it. Starting with the food.. Drink order: Bottles of flat and bubbly water, Rioja Wine and 2 pints of Guinness We had the Famine Soup, The Salmon Gravlax and the Lobster Omelet as starters.. The soup was tasty but I hoped for a better portion of bone marrow, it was just a little dabble of it on a big piece of toast and couldn't appreciate the flavor...the lobster Omelet was magnificent, good chunks of lobster in a well prepare Omelet, the gravlax was what we expected, a good amount and smoked to perfection. For mains we had to Sole, the pork chop and the grill sample.."Jammets" The grilled meat sample was excellent with a superb black pudding and all the meats were tender and succulent, the pork chop was a big chunk of meat with a lot of fat and the side potatoes were very greasy and overcooked and the fish wasn't very good, tasted a little as if it was just defrosted...for dessert we had the cheese cake that come in a mason jar inside a paper bag, I guess is a deconstructed version, it was hard to eat due to the excessive crumbs and the awkwardness of the jar but the taste was good... Espresso was good as well as the mocha, but the regular drip coffee was weak... The service by ツィカル was great and we practiced our Japanese with her. To get to the bathroom you have to go all the way up to the fourth floor and it might be a little troublesome for older people.. In a place with few tables at the time we ended up with empty plates on our table while the manager and other persons were talking at the bar..our server was busy doing a birthday for a table... In resume we didn't like being judged at the door with the manager assuming that we don't have enough money for this kind of place... We might try other places next month.

Had expected more on the food since it's a Michelin guide. Ordered the pork chop, felt it was a bit overcooked since I have to struggle cutting it. Not much taste to the sauce, thinking they were going for the taste of good pork. Maybe my taste buds were not working that nigh. Dessert was good, blue cheese on a waffle and lemon cake. Great atmosphere though, nice cosy quiet place to catch up with friends.

Recently had a I recently had lunch at The Pig’s Ear and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is warm and cosy, and we were lucky to sit by the window with a beautiful view. The food was excellent — we ordered the mixed grill and the lamb, both perfectly cooked and full of flavour. A lovely spot for a relaxed, high-quality meal in the city centre.

Second visit and equally impressed with the food and service. Booked as one of the few Dublin restaurants not unreasonably bumping up prices for December. Pork chop beautifully matured and flavoursome. Ham and egg rich and decadent.

Exceeds expectations every time on food and service. Owen is the best! Thank you for your hospitality. The pork chop was the best one I’ve ever had. Surprisingly crisp, like crackling, on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. You can taste the love and care that went into it. And the boxty? Come on, so fluffy and crispy and comforting and hearty. We ended up getting three starter and three dessert and can’t wait to go back to taste the rest of the menu. Our favourite dessert was the lemon poppy seed (orange dessert) so GOOD! Thank you 🐷 👂

Super charming and unpretentious spot. We really enjoyed the witty banter with the server, who did guide us in the perfect choices for our meal. Of course, we had to try the pork chop and it was seasoned well and perfectly cooked. The smoked potatoes…..just yum!

Bleecker Street

02/11/2025: A pleasant place with two floors, two TV screens on the ground floor, and many flags of countries and teams, as well as banknotes from various countries.

Arthur Mayne's

23/12/2025: Mayne's is a perfect local pub, and I loved going there during the six months that I lived in Donnybrook. It was a shame that they had to close the kitchen at the end of the summer, but it was necessary given that it was losing money. Most importantly, I was relieved that the pub has stayed open and continues to be an anchor of the neighborhood, with great pints and a very low-key atmosphere, as well as comfortable seating. The staff -- Alan, Fiona, Rodrigo, and Maria -- are friendly and extremely good at their jobs. They always made me feel welcome, and I'll miss going in for my usual.
17/12/2025: Great atmosphere and drinks. Staff are attentive and nice, and the place just feels cozy.
