Porterhouse in Killarney

Restaurant with a very particular interior design. One of the waiters told us that it was an old electrical spare parts store and the truth is that it was very peculiar, since there were cubicles everywhere so there was a lot of privacy between table and table. The service and the restaurant as such: GOOD. The Food: It was not what we expected 😟 We ordered a Hamburger, which was not too big for our taste. The second thing we ordered was the 7 ounce Fillet. We ordered the waiter who served us to bring us the Hamburger cut in half first, since we would share. When they brought us the burger they also brought us the Meat and we corrected them since it was not as we had ordered. The waiter immediately came to apologize and removed the meat. When we finished the Burger they brought the meat and we were disappointed to see how small the piece was and also how cooked the meat was, since we had asked for it rare. We ordered the waiter to change our dish since we didn't like it. They brought us the BBQ Ribs, which were good in size but they had BBQ Sauce from a supermarket bottle and there was nothing special about it. Both dishes we ate came with some frozen fries that were very stiff. In fact, we didn't even touch the Ribs ones. Conclusion: I think it is very expensive for the food they offer. It's a shame, since the restaurant is very nice and cozy. The waiters were friendly, and they really took good care of us. I suggest the restaurant owners improve the quality of the food and lower the prices a little because I don't think they should raise a little more just because the restaurant offers itself as a "steak restaurant." Positive: Killarney Beer was delicious 👏😌🍺🍺

Although we have seen glowing reviews, unfortunately our experience didn't match the expectations. We ordered fish and chips, and medium cooked fillet mignon. Fish was so bland, and fillet was overcooked. Because it took quite some time for them to check, food was eaten and they expressed their wish to renew. Anyway, fast-forwarding to dessert, we ordered warm sticky toffee pudding, which was absolutely delicious. Our waiter said he took off the dessert from the bill to make it up for the steak, but the bill came unchanged and we were so fed up at that stage, we paid and left to not come back again.

Lovely spot. Top class Kerry hospitality, food was very good. Couldn't fault it, Finbar and the female server looked after us very well. Highly recommended.

The reviews speak for themselves. Food was amazing. Staff very friendly and helpful. Tables are in small booths so it feels very quiet as part of a group instead of a big, open-plan restaurant. The meal (main + 1 pint of beer) was almost 27€, so it is pricier than other places in Killarney, but in my opinion, it's worth it. Good vegetarian options (not just the standard veggie burger, curry, etc. I had the vegetarian tacos, which were amazing). Recommend to book if you're a group of people as it was very busy (and only a Wednesday!)

Superb service from the entire staff. Trish led the team!!! Food was fresh and included Irish favorites with a large selection of fresh alternative for the pub food wary. Dine her when in Killarney.

Delicious! Came here for our first dinner in town and food and drinks were delicious. The fish and chips were so good and the garlic Brie bread was to die for. Ended the meal with a kindred espresso martini which was delicious (dessert in a cup)!

We ended up at the restaurant because they had a few vegetarian options. In the restaurant itself there are lots of small and larger 'cabins' in which you sit and are slightly elevated. Our seat for two was a bit cramped with food and drinks, but it still worked. The service was friendly & most importantly - the food tasted really good and wasn't too little.

Ate here with my wife on our recent visit to Killarney. First time eating here and was very happy. Menu is excellent with loads of choice. Food was excellent. The location is ideal and located right in town centre. I liked the private seating arrangement which makes for a nice chat with whoever you are eating with. Will def be back.
