Porterhouse in Killarney

I have to say, the Porterhouse in Killarney completely blew me away and is now one of my all-time favorite culinary experiences! We drove there specifically for it, and the evening was simply divine from beginning to end. The interior is truly unique and cozy – you sit in charming, separate little wooden booths and alcoves, which gives the whole place a wonderfully private and rustic atmosphere. The food was an absolute highlight. We had the incredibly tender rib-eye steaks with peppercorn sauce, the magnificent spare ribs that practically fell off the bone, and the legendary signature house beef burger. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, was cooked to perfection, and masterfully seasoned. Huge praise also goes to the kitchen for the ingenious and innovative vegan options, which are rarely found in such high quality. And then there was the local Killarney Blonde Ale, which paired perfectly with the food. The prices, around €20 to €40 per person, are more than fair for this top-notch quality and the generous portions. The entire team was exceptionally warm, attentive, and incredibly fast, even though the place was extremely busy. This restaurant doesn't just deserve five stars, it sets a true standard for Irish hospitality. Anyone traveling in Kerry simply MUST eat here – an absolute must-visit! It's just a shame there was no Wi-Fi...

Completely blown away by how amazing this place was. Having traveled all over Scotland and Ireland, this was the best food we've experienced by far. The sirloin steak had a perfect, chargrilled flavor. The brie and bacon burger was perfectly balanced. The seafood chowder stole the show with meaty seafood and perfect flavor. We have many days here and can't wait to come back and try more dishes.

There were five of us, and we were very satisfied. The steak was cooked to perfection, the fries with aioli were delicious, and the garlic bread was wonderfully fluffy and flavorful. The sauce could have been a bit thicker. The service was very friendly and attentive. Overall, a great restaurant to kick off a pub night. Highly recommended!

The best mushroom bruschetta EVER!!! I want to re make it at home. Such great service and they fit our big group in.

Highly recommend this place! The staff are incredibly friendly! We ordered the seafood chowder and the traditional lamb stew, both were delicious! The bread served that day was probably soda bread. (The last line appears to be a nonsensical string of characters and doesn't translate directly.)

It was okay. Has appetizer, steak sandwich’s and salad. Felt overrated and overhyped. Wil be a skip for us next time.

Arrived around 9:45 pm (July 27 2026) and were still able to order and finish mains before closing at 10:30. We chose pleasant sidewalk seating in this lively area. Salmon with veg and potatoes, and a roasted goat cheese salad with greens fruits beets nuts etc.were excellent. Vegetables and fish fresh and tasty, large portions, unpretentious but quality food. With a nice Rockshore lager, just what we needed after a long day driving and sightseeing. Friendly and perfect service, too.
