Porterhouse in Killarney

Great food (and really great mocktails) here. Was a bit disappointed with the service, as staff were more concerned with talking amongst themselves than trying at all to connect with guests.

We had an awesome meal at this unique bar/pub/restaurant for our final night in Ireland. The inside is totally unique-all the seating is divided up into tiny rooms or booths so it feels VERY private and cozy. We had a view to the front street so also good people watching. The menu has lots of inventive twists on the classic Irish pub menu. We started with the warm garlic bread with Brie and honey-delicious and sticky (bit they give you wet wipes). We also tried their version of a wedge salad which was fine but pales a bit when Compared to its American cousin. The real standout for uniqueness was the 7 oz filet served at the table on an 800 degree stone. It comes out seared in the kitchen on the stone so you can then finish it to your liking (hint: slice it to make things easier and faster). The steak came with several sides including patatas bravas, onion rings and more and at €46 was a decent deal. We shared all the courses and it was plenty of food. The modest wine list has several by the glass options but no real standouts. Glasses come in Two sizes. I REALLY enjoyed the smoked old fashioned drink with earthy woodsmoke trapped then released from the glass at the table. It’s a bit tough on the servers-the layout-as it is harder to keep an eye on your customers so expect service to feel a little off/leisurely. A great time and a fun spot right in the heart of Killarney. Highly recommended.

Best food we’ve had in Ireland. Try the grill your own steak. Definitely worth the price. Great cocktails too! Really delicious food for vegan appetites as well.

We were famished after a 10 hour day of driving around County Kerry. Popped in here and had a fantastic meal- arancini, filet (with tons of yummy sides) and a baked goat cheese salad. Server was sweet and the small booth at the window was cozy nook.

Service was attentive, friendly and efficient! They welcomed our large group with no complaint. The garlic Parmesan fries were THE best I've ever had stateside or anywhere! Truly exceptional! Mushroom arancini was perfect! Drinks were spot on! Would highly recommend!

My family really enjoyed our meal here and would definitely come back if we were in Killarney again.

We were a bit late. Big group. Nothing was too much trouble. And did not rush us out . Lovely evening

Great restaurant close to the hotels - not our first choice but was a diamond in the rough and we were able to easily get a table for 4 quickly during a Friday night and the service was awesome! Food tasted great and the atmosphere was of a cool rustic restaurant. Great for a family-sizes group and we left full. Couldn’t ask for much more!

The service was excellent and food was amazing. I felt like the menu had a lot of options depending on preference/accommodations. We came here off the whim and were seated quickly. Had several of the wait staff check in on us and ensure we were taken care of. If you are looking for quality and good service, this is a great choice!

Great atmosphere and food, would recommend booking a table, but of its booked out online its worth a walk in because they will try find you a table and you can have a drink at the bar while waiting. Very nice cocktails, wings very nice but a small portion with only 5 or 6 wings, plenty for a starter and not overpriced. All the staff are really nice and its a lively busy restaurant.
