Great food and friendly service

Wow,wow,wow, what an incredible experience, the food was sublime the staff so attentive without being intrusive and it was on par if not better than some Michelin star places I've eaten in. Highly recommend

My fault. I ordered the tuna special. Unfortunately, it was the whole tuna steak including "dark" meat. It made the entire meal, in my opinion, very fishy tasting. AND it was over cooked. Others might have enjoyed it. Just not me.

It was a lovely evening in a lovely atmosphere.

Excellent food, flavours in both starters and main are amazing. Generous proportions. Atmosphere is unique and feels traditional European. It's the best dinner we both had in a long time. Really nice surprise to find this gem.

I had an early dinner here but not early enough for the early menu. Fortunately I was able to get the hake as a regular entree. It was my first taste of the fish and it was delicious. Wait staff were very nice but seemed to be going in many directions even though the restaurant was not full. I would definitely return if I'm in Kilkenny again.

The food here was good. We were in a large group, and when my sister wanted a beverage, and the waiter had not taken her order for one, she walked up to the bar to place her order. When she did this, the bartender said that she wouldn’t take her order at the bar but only at the table. My sister turns around and heads back to the table while the bartender follows her and finally takes her drink order once she is seated at the table. I’m not sure if this is a law in Ireland but I felt that whole exchange awkward and unnecessary.

Great atmosphere, and delicious dinner. Service was good - sometimes hard to flag down to get something, but always polite and helpful when we did have their attention.

Fantastic atmosphere and amazing food

We visited Rive Gauche to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. It was an excellent choice. The food, ambience, and service were exemplary. We were treated to a complimentary champagne on our arrival, followed by attention from the waiters befitting the occasion. When we next visit Kilkenny, we will be back for sure.
