Rive Gauche in Kilkenny

We live in Kilkenny and this is our favourite restaurant. We have had family dinners (with teens), meeting friends and meals just as a couple - all wonderful. The food is lovely, great wine selection. The decor makes me feel like I am in Paris but it’s the fabulous service that keeps us coming back time and time again. Everyone there is so attentive, friendly and professional. Tvrtko (hoping I spelled this correctly) in particular is a gentleman and looks after us so well every time we are there. Highly recommend.

I looooved this restaurant a lot. Wasn't expecting to find a jewel in Kilkenny from the get go. It was a random choice and such a lucky one. The food was a delight. Not only tasty, but artistically arranged. The staff is helpful, attentive and at the same time not distracting you from enjoying the food - nice balance here. And atmosphere is a separate joy. If I could, I would have given 6 stars😁. Fancy, darkish, stylish, tasteful. Pricing a bit on a high-medium side (about 50€ per person), but you expect that from a good restaurant. Lovely evening in a lovely place. And a definite recommendation for those, who visit Kilkenny.

This was an amazing dining experience — great environment and setting with an extremely welcoming and attentive staff. The food was spectacular from the appetizers to entrees to deserts, a variety of flavors and textures in each dish. We loved everything about this restaurant.

hi all..had food there this past Sunday...we had the sardines, the pate and 3 out of had the fish and chips....the sardines were pathetic..smallest fish full of bones with over sized bread and tasteless...the pate was a joke...watered down and sloppy..again wouldn't eat for any price...the fish and chips..chips just OK.. pees and bacon just OK and the fish was too heavily battered..at some point people are going to realise that they are paying for ambience and service which of course is top notch but hey guys you are a restaurant first and foremost get the food right again..I have been coming for 10 years and now I'm going to la revista...service where is also brilliant but the food is better..but the wine also was perfect..please get it right..

Llamé a Rive Gauche para almorzar —cuatro de nosotros, solo platos principales— y todos quedamos realmente impresionados. La comida estaba fresca, bien presentada y llena de sabor. Gran ambiente y servicio amable también. ¡Estaría encantado de volver la próxima vez que estemos en Kilkenny!

Este es un gran restaurante en un pueblo muy encantador, muy recomendable, pero de obligada reserva. También el bar de la Margen Izquierda al lado tiene un gran ambiente y muy vale la pena.
