Great location, stayed for new year, great band new years eve, lovely staff, thanks especially to Helen throughout our stay for being so cheerful and helpful. Check in could have been more efficient. Lovely powerful shower though found hair clips on bathroom floor and radiator very rusted which looked disgusting. Beautiful view of castle from our room. Woken very early by very loud noise from maybe heating which went away when we ran the hot tap for 5 mins but couldn't get back to sleep. Also shocking loud banging doors from accommodation staff all morning. Breakfast good.

Nice hotel. Really difficult to get parking when busy.. use the parking at the library.. its not too far away.. there is a daily charge but its not bad.

Should be 3 stars Good location Rooms basic and small but clean. Lacks soundproofing and room was cold until 10 pm had to ask twice to boost heat. Was offered a fan heater . Breakfast was OK but if yr a vegetarian not great. Mushrooms undercooked, tomato and egg. Decided to just go continental. It was OK for a one night stay

Lovely hotel, relaxed but attentive Irish service. Room very nice and whilst the bathroom was perfectly fine it was starting to look a tad dated. In the bar, Philipe was great on Monday evening, good chat as it was quite quiet and Helen on Wednesday morning who went out of her way to get some bar food early for me as I had a train to catch. She also sorted my taxi to the station. Will definitely be back.

Located very centrally, but the room I had was over the street, very noisy at night. Rooms very basic no safe to leave valuables when going out

This is tough… Pros: Location can’t be beat. You’re in the center of everywhere you want to go as a tourist, and at a good starting ground for those who are travelers and like to go a little bit farther. Plenty of good pubs nearby, with plenty of music. That said, you may hear some music into the evening. Nothing after midnight though. The rooms were average, nothing to write about in your journal, but Breakfast was very good with great service. Parking is tight but seemed plentiful. My biggest complaint: although we could see the castle from our room, we appeared to be situated above the garbage, so occasionally the wind carried in a funny smell and when they dumped glass it would startle you awake from a sleep. I don’t think I heard anything after midnight though. I was asleep, so I just remember having the life drained from my body a few times when they dumped barrel after barrel of glass. Ruining my sleep that poorly takes away a star.
