River Court Hotel in Kilkenny

Lovely hotel. Well sited in the city centre. Delicious breakfast. Room was huge!

We went for the night, visited a few pubs around and enjoyed some traditional Irish music, the hotel room was very well layed out, comfortable, modern bathroom and very cozy. Staff were very welcoming and we had zero issues on our stay, unfortunately the weather was terrible but that wasn't on them. Breakfast was gorgeous and we definitely would stay again.

A couple of weeks ago I stayed for 1 night at this hotel. Accept normal things and the room that was good, I had an unpleasant experience when the person checking me in stated my room number out loud, in a very packed lobby. After leaving my bag in the room, I left to get coffee somewhere, which is when I noticed a man from the lobby following me. I reported my experience to the reception and a manager on duty, just to flag they may wish to be more careful and not say the room numbers out loud. Although they promptly switched my room, I didn't like that theanager tried to excuse their actions by saying the woman at reception meant no harm (I never said she did, just wanted them to be aware, is all). Room was very standard but nice and clean, and breakfast was good. No reason not to recommend this hotel, however, wherever you're staying, be sure your room number is not public knowledge 😅

Stay here last week my birthday they left a card in the room and even upgrade my room my favourite place to stay when down in kilkenny always feel welcome great staff and great view of the castle

An exceptional experience in the very heart of Kilkenny! Kilkenny River Court Hotel is not just a place to stay it’s a feeling of calm, elegance, and genuine hospitality. The location is beyond perfect with stunning views of the castle, right on the riverbank and just steps away from the city centre. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and the view was truly unforgettable. Breakfast was generous, delicious, and well organised, and the riverside restaurant offers a true delight for both the palate and the eyes. The service? Absolutely impressive. The staff were attentive, warm, and always willing to help with a smile especially the team at the restaurant and front desk. It’s the small touches like these that make your stay feel truly special. One idea for the future (inspired by guest feedback and the hotel’s care for all types of visitors); it would be great to offer customisable door signs such as “Quiet Please” or “Sensitive Guest” to add an extra layer of personal comfort. In short if you’re looking for elegance, comfort, and a warm welcome with one of the best views in Kilkenny the River Court Hotel is your place. Highly recommended. 😇

Good location and parking at the hotel. Friendly staff and great service. Our room was right above the air conditioning units, which meant noise until 10 p.m. We tried to move to another room, but everything was fully booked. Another issue was that the parking was a bit disorganized, often blocking the entrance and exit.

We had a wonderful evening at the River Court Hotel’s outdoor drinking area. The riverside setting is truly stunning, with unbeatable views of Kilkenny Castle right across the River Nore. It’s such a relaxing place to sit back and enjoy a drink while taking in the atmosphere. The seating area is spacious and comfortable, perfect for couples, families, or friends. Staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A fantastic spot in the heart of Kilkenny — highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind with a spectacular view.
