River Court Hotel in Kilkenny

Went for birthday treat booked room with balcony and castle view. Half the day is gone, waiting for checking in. Then, to check into a room costing 260, that was absolutely basic, no hest, some mould in bathrooms, I did try my phone, but no phone worked or had a line , room was near a air vent made nose for the trip. Never again, 260 was not worth it. Did get lunch was nice. Left hair straighteners by TV wrapped in lead, but when I phones hotel they said no sign of it. Couldn't get room service and was told the kitchen closed 8.30 even asked any bar restaurant nope kitchen closed, yet served food till 9 heard next day. Was very disappointed with over stay as 260 for a super cold room with no services. Never again .

Enjoyed a one night stay to celebrate my husband's birthday , mid-week, at the very affordable rate of €80 which included breakfast. The breakfast was buffet and was really excellent. Staff throughout the hotel, reception, breakfast room , bar and household were very helpful and professional. In the room there was bottled water and complimentary chocolates which was a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom pristine. On booking l asked for a room overlooking the river which the reception kindly arranged. My only complaint is that the windows overlooking the river were so dirty that we could not see out, taking a star off for this. I would suggest management look into this.

Beautiful hotel right in the heart of Kilkenny. Stunning view of the river. The rooms immaculate and service fantastic.

We had been gifted a stay in the Rivercourt Hotel from our son for Christmas. I rang and booked a two night b& b stay directly with the hotel. We arrived a little early but that wasn't a problem. The receptionist was so friendly and had us booked in quickly. We were over the moon when we went up to our room and found we had a Castle and river view. The room was spotless and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. We ate dinner in the bar on our first night and it was delicious. The breakfast both mornings was plentiful , tasty and the staff were so pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend anyone to stay there and I hope to be back very soon.

Great location very central to all attractions. 5 mins to castle . Great service and value. Breakfast multiple choices of food to suit everyone. I had a vegetarian breakfast with poached eggs made to order.

I know I left a previous bad review but I must say things have improved since I was there about a year, ago my problem at the time was that the staff levels weren't very good and they weren't very well trained, but recently went back again and found the service was excellent and atmosphere was pleasant.

Very friendly staff with lovely food. The rooms, like all Irish hotel rooms, were far too hot with no way of adjusting the heating.

Great rooms and a great location,and a lively pint of Guinness
