Rustic roots restaurant in Athlone

The place is really cute and cosy, such a cosy spot to relax. The service was excellent, we felt very well looked after. The food is absolutely amazing! I loved the fish and chips, full of flavour, and the apple vinaigrette was such a lovely surprise — it went perfectly. The portion was generous and really satisfying.

Food and service were excellent, cannot fault at all. Highly recommend.

We spent the night in Athlone on a whim and stumbled upon Roots. We had a wonderful evening with incredibly delicious food, good drinks and very friendly service. If we ever find ourselves back in Ireland and Athlone, we will definitely be back!

It's not big, the food is hot and tasty. The prices are reasonable. But we didn't feel comfortable there, like in many other restaurants in Ireland.

Absolutely yummers!!!💃 I couldn’t help but dance my way through my wondrous feed! Came here twice and I had to get the same as last time and that’s the VEGAN BREAKFAST !🗣️ a beautiful assembly of incredible ingredients! That nourished my soul… to dancing in my chair! And beautiful staff! I was met with the same wonderful girl with red hair! RED HAIR GIRL! thank thank you! Adds to the experience! Would be nice if it was warmer especially on them chilly days but the interior almost makes up for it.. but it would be a cherry on top! Quite expensive but if you’re looking for a good breakfast and a nice Irish one with a twist for my lovely vegans! 🌱 STOP no future 👀

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal here on Sunday Afternoon. What can I say, it was fantastic. Food was delicious,portions very generous, service was top class. Would highly,highly recommend Rustic Roots. Well done to all the Staff. Will be back

On our way to Galway we stopped in Athlon to see the sights. Unfortunately the castle was closed today, but a walk around was in order. We stopped here for lunch as it looked good. We were not disappointed. Great fish and chips and the veg soup was tasty too!

Very tasty food and very friendly service. Not exactly cheap, but reasonable.
