Rustic roots restaurant in Athlone

One of the best meals i’ve had. Perfectly cooked, balanced flavors, good portion, a medley of tastitude and deliciousness. Truly a gem.

I’ll be honest—when I first walked in, I didn’t have high expectations. It was a last-minute choice since everywhere else was fully booked, and I couldn’t help but wonder why this place still had space. But the food completely changed my mind. Really tasty, freshly made, and full of flavour. A great little spot that turned out to be much better than I expected. I’d definitely go back!

Dinner was wonderfully presented, but not the best meal we’ve had in Ireland. Chicken burger was dry/overcooked. The fillet was cooked to medium, but was a bit tough to cut still. It was definitely $30-$40 a person, maybe even closer to $50-$60 with beverages. People were kind, just not as good as other options we’ve had recently.
