Scarriff Inn in

Skarriff Inn is one of the few places on the Ring of Kerry that can accommodate the numbers of passengers who travel on motor coaches. It's a busy place with a typical gift shop and a cafeteria style buffet where you line up and order what you like from the selection of classic Irish offerings. I chose a smoked Irish Salmon plate that included two types of smoked salmon, some Cole Slaw and Potato Salad...and found it fresh and quite pleasing. I was hungry so I also tried the seafood chowder, steaming hot and aromatic. The chowder was outstanding. Friends ordered the Shepherd's Pie and others chose sandwiches. A staff member carried my tray to a table that was unoccupied...a nice touch. Food is, of course, tourist priced...not inexpensive, but all considered...this is a suitable place to stop for lunch. The dining room is charming and has splendid views...I've had lunch here a couple of times over the years and will probably return on a future trip. Enjoy.

Stopped here on a Globus tour for about an hour. Enjoyed some hot chocolate and Bailey’s Coffee both very good although expensive 11€ for-them. The benefit- amazing views and picture opportunities. Bring tou wide angle and telephoto !
