Perfect in every way! Very friendly service. The food was just what we were looking for and catered to everyone in the family. Great options for children not just the standard nuggets and chips. I will definitely be returning next time we visit Malahide π
We wanted to dine in- and although many places were empty outside and inside- we were advised that thereβs no availability. The food looked good though so we got a takeaway anyways
We visited for dinner one Sunday recently because gluten free options are available. The food was very good and the waitress was knowledgeable about gluten free options. The restaurant is in a nice location and has a nice vibe. It's popular with families, so early Sunday evening isn't the time to eat there if you want a quiet meal, but otherwise, I'd recommend. It is nice to find restaurants that can accommodate diners with gluten free requirements.
Had a very good lunch experience in the Scotch Bonnet yesterday.
The food was excellent as was the service. Kevin went out of his way to accommodate my friend who is Celiac.
Would highly reccomend.
The Bistro is lovely , it has the traditional Irish surroundings , very nice food ,family had a mixture of meals Pizzas / pasta/ ribs all very nice - also ribs with the BBQ sauce amazing price was okay it's Malahide - place was mobbed - only small issue we were a bit cramped with our table of 8 , special mention the staff were excellent , we will return
14/09/2025: Best meal we had in Ireland. Steak was divine, truffle fries next level and side of greens a lovely level if flavour.
31/08/2025: Had a meal here last night β overall β really enjoyed it.
Firstly, the menu is excellent β the choice/options of dishes are perfect β something for everyone β and everything sounded delicious.
We opted for the Burrata and the Croquettes to start.
The Burrata dish was presented really well and everything was really fresh. Main negative would be that it was lacking a little seasoning.
The croquettes were okay. Whilst the outside was perfectly cooked, perfectly crunchy β the inside was far too soft and the Iberico ham was seriously lacking. Whilst the cherry tomato garnish was very tasty β there was far too much garlic β it overpowered the dish. However, my major criticism with the dish would be that it was not very hot β for something thatβs deep-fried, it was just about room-temperature β and really detracted from the overall experience of the dish.
We both went with steak for mains = 1 Fillet (medium rare) and 1 Striploin (medium).
Firstly β they were perfectly cooked. It is the first time in a very, very, very long time that both of our steaks came out exactly as ordered β 99% of the time, at least 1 of our steaks will be either under cooked or over cooked. But not last night β they were perfect.
I had the truffle fries β absolutely delicious.
My wife had the green beans and mashed potato β whilst both tasted great β she felt the sesame seeds detracted from the green beans β and the potatoes were too buttery.
We both went with the peppercorn sauce β whilst very nice β weβve had better β plus, the portion size was a little on the stingy side.
Again β the food could have been hotter. Because the temperature was lower than it should have been we felt a tad rushed eating it so that it wasnβt cold before we finished it.
However, the flavours were excellent.
One major plus for the restaurant β the staff are absolutely fantastic β so, so friendly and professional.
Despite the minor negatives β we still felt we would like to return. If youβre in Malahide and feel like a steak β go to Ribeye β overall, it is worth it.
