Oldest pub in the world in continual operation. Great place to visit.

Crowded and crowded, but the atmosphere was great and the drinks were served quickly.

On our journey back from Galway to Dublin we purposely made a stop for a few hours in Athlone to pop into Sean’s bar for a few hours. Bucket list place given the history. We were not disappointed. Absolutely loved the historic bar. The staff and patrons were friendly and welcoming. We didn’t want to leave. The town looks incredible and we have made a plan to come back and actually spend a night or two here in the future. Thanks for the memories.

We stopped in on our way to Galway and were lucky enough to enjoy live music. The staff and the locals were all very friendly to my wife and I, and kindly explained to us Americans what ‘toasties’ are. This was by far the coziest pub we stopped at during our road trip.
