Its a must stop. The main bar area is worth the wait for the feel and smell.

So much fun around, most people genuinely kind, staff amazingly accommodating. Lovely place and great buzz.

We had to stop and visit Sean’s Bar, the oldest pub in Ireland, while passing near Athlone. The front bar is cosy and features part of the original historic wall alongside the Guinness World Records certificates, which adds to the charm. Further along, there’s a beer garden that feels a bit more modern and less authentic, but it’s still nicely laid out. Unsurprisingly, the pub is very busy with tourists, and pints are slightly overpriced compared to elsewhere, but it’s easy to see why the place is so popular. I don't think they have food options or maybe I just did not see it.

A Sunday around 2 pm. The oldest pub in the world. Music not very loud. Nice, but it's nowhere near as lively as Temple Bar in Dublin.
