Sheraton Athlone Hotel in Athlone

This hotel is kind of sprawling with corridors in multiple directions. It was a challenge to haul our heavy luggage to our room (zero sign of any bell desk). Rooms are quiet though. Decent sleep quality given we were juggling an 8 hour time difference. Ended up extending our stay a few days because it was so comfortable. The Club Lounge is one of the weirdest I have ever encountered. Super small space that filled up fast. No staff working it during the happy hour so patrons have to clear plates etc. The food was kind of cheap with almost no variety from day to day. The only alcohol offered is draft bad wine...yes...you pull a lever to serve it from a barrel. Don't understand why they don't offer beer or other drinks. Some staff members came in once or twice to avail themselves of the Nespresso coffee machine. They chatted among themselves in the back and left. Again...super weird. Breakfast is good but there is no variety. The music is also insanely loud. These are things the hotel should be able to tackle easily. Wonder if they will? Parking is a little funky but there is a ton of it and it's free. Appreciated this very much. Several staff members really shone during our stay: David (Manager?); Elisa in the breakfast room; Daniela (Housekeeping). All things considered we had a very nice stay and would happily return to this cute town. The hotel is well located with several amenities a short walk away

The hotel and room were very clean. There were three of us in the room, and the extra bed (a sofa bed) was really uncomfortable.

Fab hotel. Helpful staff. Food in the bar very good. Central location with great underground parking. Would highly recommend.

Was there for a conference. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The facilities were excellent.

Lovely and modern hotel located in the heart of Athlone. The spa was the highlight – I would highly recommend booking a treatment for a relaxing experience. The leisure centre was a great bonus and added to the overall enjoyment of our stay. While the food was fairly standard, everything else more than made up for it.

Good standards evident. Compliments to both Breakfast Buffet (really good) and Housekeeping staff... seemed genuinely keen in our welfare.... much appreciated. Bar food was only average & service mediocre.

Just returned from a 2 night break after a 4 hour drive from northern ireland we were welcomed by Marie on reception who was so lovely and informative about the hotel and local area etc we were early but our room was ready so we were allowed to check in an hour early.. Facilities are very good including pool, one negative thing i will mention is hot tub was quite cold so unfortunately didn't enjoy. our room was very nice and spotless clean. Breakfast options excellent the staff there and i think the manager in charge were lovely we were looked after very well indeed. Food was very high standard and so much selection would like the hot items a little warmer, even though the food was replenished constantly it wasn't very warm. There is a coffee machine within the breakfast area to take away a coffee on the go, fab. Check out a breeze by a lovely lady karolina i think? Not sure very friendly and we had access to car park if we fancied going into town or shopping after check out. Lovely to have a 12pm check out too most hotels are 11 Perfect location attached to shopping centre, pub right next door to hotel. Restaurants, pubs and food 1 mins walk away.parking a breeze just park in shopping centre take lift to hotel they will verify your parking ticket We will definitely be back. Have just booked my parents into a stay for July 2026 for 2 nights after feed back from our stay

A great place to redeem my Marriott Bonvoy elite nights. The hotel is super nice. I received an upgrade to a suite with a gorgeous view and some delicious cookies as a gift. The bed was spectacular for my last two nights of my road trip around Ireland. The breakfast is very good, and a hearty bowl of oatmeal with whiskey from Sean's Pub is a must. The hotel is next to a shopping center, so you can leave your car and walk everywhere. In just a few minutes, you'll reach the center of Athlone and the Shannon River route. Athlone was the perfect place to close out my two-week trip around Ireland, and the hotel gave me some much-needed peace and quiet.
