Sheridans Cheesemongers in Galway

November 24, 2024 - end of the day visit. As a true cheese lover, getting time at Sheridans was a dream come true. The first time we stopped by they were closed (it was pretty late) but I made sure to make time the following day, even it if was close to their closing time. The gentleman behind the counter, whose name I wish I could remember, was an absolute gem. He was very helpful and shared information about the cheeses that I was interested. He led me to one of the best cheeses I have ever had- a sheep's Cashel blue. It was gorgeous. Despite only being in the city for a limited time, I still walked out with several different cheeses and several boxes of crackers. If you seriously love cheese, you cannot miss this place. I wish it was located in my city.

Great selection of both Irish and imported cheese. Helpful staff which knows their product to the core.

I would say this is the best cheese shop in Ireland. Such a huge selection to choose from n the staff are knowledgeable n very happy to advise you on what the cheeses are like.the price is reasonable too.its actually exciting to look around n converse with the staff.highly recommend this place

A gem, great local selection, sume classics and lovely informative staff

Went in today on a Saturday, the shop was busy and the staff worked quickly and diligently. Every one of them was friendly and helpful. It was my first time making a cheeseboard and the woman that helped me gave me great advice and told me the difference between the options to find what I wanted. Great experience

We always visit Sheridans when in Galway. Great wines, great charcuterie boards, and excellent service. A must for a glass of wine and snack. We'll be back!

We stopped and sampled several until we decided on two to bring home. Along with great cheese they sent us port side to a wonderful lunch overlooking the harbor. What great service at this classic shop.

A pearl of Galway. Impressive selection of cheeses. And the most welcoming cheese professionals. Unfortunately, in our 1-day trip we didn't visit their wine bar (it opens a bit later that the cheese store). But something to look forward too! :)
