Absolutely amazing pint of Guinness

great pub for a stop off and pint.

The Irish food is fantastic.The food totally suits my Asian taste.

Beautiful venue. We experienced our first trad session here and the couple had the whole place going crazy. Its just so cramped and small inside, only maybe 40-50 of us could fit inside.

A friend recommended this place, and the first time I tried to go was on a Saturday evening.. it was CHAOTIC to say the least, I said absolutely not. I was in the area again on a Tuesday evening and stopped in and had the most pleasant time. The place was still crowded but it was a nice vibe, eventually we found seats at the bar. The Guinness here in particular was good and I enjoyed the apple ciders too. The service for drinks is really quick and the live music was really nice! My husband and I met a local fella and had a nice conversation for a bit then headed off. Overall had a really nice time and I'm so happy I was able to come on a slower paced day, highly recommend.

Classic bar, lots of people, good atmosphere and often live music

We ended up at Taaffes Bar last night after walking past an extremely crowded Tig Cóilí while searching for some trad music, and we’re very glad we did. The trad session was unbelievable and had exactly the atmosphere we were hoping to find in Galway. We managed to grab two seats toward the back of the pub where we could really soak in that warm, snug Irish pub feeling while listening to the musicians play. The Guinness was excellent and the whole place just had a fantastic energy about it. A brilliant experience overall and definitely one of our favourite pubs we visited in Galway.

Had a couple hours in Galway and stopped in for a quick bite. Wonderful atmosphere, good food, good service and a reasonable price. Would highly recommend.
