Fabulous food of the highest quality. The menu changes regularly but the standard never dips. Highly recommend Sherwood Lane.

Just back from an evening in Sherwood Lane. Let me first say we’ve been here many times before from the days of Canteen. The food was lovely as always. Regretted ordering the Sri Lankan masala, it tasted like any masala I’ve ever had from anywhere but that’s on me, it was still nice. Our main issue tonight was the service, usually impeccable. Our sever was a little overbearing throughout but to be fair this didn’t bother us at all. What did bother us was the fact that our table was booked from 6.30 to 8.30. At 8pm as he delivered our cocktails (which we had ordered only after a long wait and then only because someone else’s cocktails were delivered to our table by mistake which gave us the opportunity to order ours) and informed us that he needed our table back by 8.15. We would have been done and gone well before 8.30, notwithstanding the delay in ordering our (delicious) cocktails, but we now felt rushed to finish up and go. Took the shine off a pleasant evening. We will return but not as eagerly.

Delicious food, you can tell the dishes are made by chefs with passion and care! Fabulous ambience and lovely staff. Would recommend!
