02/06/2026: This place was excellent. Great food, great beer, great people.
We traveled from the States and this pub was only a short walk from our Vrbo. We visited this pub twice, as our first and last stop in Ireland, since it was so good. There is even a parking lot right behind back with cheap parking. 10/10 would recommend and will be eating/drinking here again when we eventually visit Ireland again.

08/07/2025: We had a lovely meal but more importantly, the pints were lovely, no line cleaner taste. Friendly staff, lovely character to the building.
Will definitely be back when I’m in the area for the spuds. 5 ⭐
27/05/2025: Could not be a worse experience. Service was beyond appalling. Male server got the drinks order wrong, even after confirming it with us. No apology just into a huff. Customer service was non existent. Anyways, ordered pulled pork wrap. Absolutely terrible, no flavour, no rub or sauce used. Pork was hard, not shredded or pulled. Stuffed in some dry lettuce, no onion, no jalapeños, no cheese, no beans, no rice. Awful in every way. Place was deserted when we went in. Can see why. Sad

28/09/2025: One of the best restaurants in Lucan/Leixlip/Celbridge/Maynooth area. The Dover sole meunière was simply outstanding. Better than fish I’ve had in Sole Dublin. Service was great too. Sound bunch!

22/11/2025: Can’t get service, we walked in at 1pm , shown to our table , handed the menus and forgotten about . The place was dead . Three other tables waiting on service. I locked eyes with the waiter twice as he walked by me , no one at the bar . This isn’t the first time it has happened. . I’m living in Celbridge fifteen years and always try to support local pubs and restaurants as the hospitality sector is really struggling. Maybe this isn’t the case for McMahons .
