I needed to start my day early to continue my adventure in Ireland.
I opened Google Maps to find coffee places, restaurants that are open very early.
The Stage Door Cafe is a walking distance from the Wellington Hotel. The owner is a charismatic person , the food is very good and the interior design is appealing.

We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning at around 9:30 and got lucky – the very last table was still available in what is clearly a very popular café.
It took a little while before we were served, which was understandable given how busy it was. In total, we waited around 45 minutes for our Irish Breakfast, but it was fresh, well prepared and tasted really good.
Once we’d finished, things suddenly moved at Formula 1 pace. Our plates disappeared almost instantly, the bill arrived straight away, and we were politely asked to free up the table for the next guests. We would have happily stayed for another coffee, but when we stepped outside we understood why: there was a queue stretching 10–15 metres down the street.
I completely understand the need to keep tables moving so everyone gets a chance to eat. However, considering the fairly long wait for the food, the good-but-rushed service afterwards, and a breakfast that was enjoyable rather than exceptional, I struggle to understand the level of hype around Stage Door Café.
It was good—just not “queue for half an hour” good. Dublin has plenty of places serving an excellent Irish breakfast, and personally I wouldn’t join the queue to come back here.

Excellent breakfast. Due to its popularity, the wait can be long, but the friendly and cheerful atmosphere will make the time pass quickly. To top it all off, the scrambled eggs and toast are fabulous. Looking forward to returning.

We visited in Jan 2019 and I forgot the name and just came across them on Instagram. So pleased to finally be able to give a review to one of the best breakfasts weve ever had in a one of a kind venue - and so so happy to see it’s in the same, renegade hands!! Despite visiting nearly 7 years ago we still talk about the amazing food and hilarious owner. We loved it and you will too! Set us up perfectly for a day of discovering Dublin.

Be prepared because there might be a bit of a line (at least in our case) and you might have to wait a bit for your food, but the Irish breakfast is worth the wait. The waiters are very local and friendly. A must-try for a dish you can't miss on a trip to Ireland! I recommend going early and not at brunch time, as it's one of the few places in Dublin that opens very early!

We got a seat straight away but waited a while for the food. Didn’t feel good value compared to other places we ate
