Simpson's Bar & Restaurant in Carndonagh

After two weeks in Co. Donegal this was by far the best food we have had all holiday. It is never easy catering for a vegetarian a carnivore and a pescatarian at any restaurant but it was no problem here and each noted how outstanding the food was. This is a first in over 25 years of travelling together. That says a lot

I cannot stress how much of a good time the wife and I had here. Host saw that I was a bit out of place and stepped into make sure we had a drink and a table was prepared. The bartender made sure to give us great recommendations for food and drink and kept the libations coming at the perfect pace. Food was outstanding! Local beef was delicious and prepared to the requested temperature. Highly recommend!

An absolute outstanding place, staff outstanding, food outstanding. Stayed in Mamore gap, found this place 30 minutes away, went back 2 nights in a row, sat outside on our last day for 20 minutes before it opened, in the rain for breakfast . Everytime well worth it. Will I be back. Hell yes for the Roast of the day. Thank you to the amazing friendly staff for making our visit fun. 5💥

Simpsons Bar and Restaurant is brilliant for food and the staff are always fantastic. Well worth a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

We visit here often as we live in Quigleys Point .. never disappoints , we were with family today who were visiting from Dublin, we were a group of 6 and everyone of us enjoyed our meals .. staff are so friendly and we’ve got to know them over the years Definitely worth a visit you’ll not be able… 10/10

I really wanted to love this pub. It gets great reviews and has a nice atmosphere. Service was friendly and prompt. We ordered beef faijitas which was a huge mistake. The fajitas consisted of slices of beef (a few) in a gloppy sort of Chinese chili sauce. The usual (as least in the US) sour cream was sort of a whipped cream in a small side dish. No pico de gallo, no guacamole, no nothing. They did come with nice flour tortillas. These were just nothing that resembled tex-mex or mexican fajitas we've ever seen and they were not good. Simpsons has a large menu. I would stay away from the 'mexican' entrees based on our experience. Fish and chips maybe?
