Simpson's Bar & Restaurant in Carndonagh

Went there for a wake just after Christmas and the food and service was brilliant.

The carbonara is so creamy and the service was quick and The atmosphere was beautiful

The squid Starter was excellent. Very fresh and tasty. A little spicy kick with the jalapeño sauce but not too spicy. It was a perfect combination of flavors and not too heavy of a meal. I ordered this as my lunch. My daughter had the kids battered cod and chips and also very fresh. The batter was excellent. Very generous portions on the kids meal. We also had the Irish breakfast here and it was excellent. I highly recommend this place for great food, great service and a very cozy spot.

Had a lovely lunch yesterday at Simpson's Bar & Restaurant. A generously filled BLT club sandwich with tasty garnish & gorgeous home made chips which stayed crunchy to the end yum. A large jacket potato with sweet chilli chicken filling & cheese as well as tasty garnish. Really nice combo. My dining companion said it was the best jacket potato & filling she ever had, praise indeed. Finished our meal with an ice cream sundae with Nutella & kinder bueno very nice & Italian meringue with cream & mint aero gorgeous. Can also be had with ice cream. The expresso martinis were the best cocktails I've had highly recommend & are consistently good. Service is great, staff are exceptional & great for the craic. Lovely ambiance in the bar & restaurant. Food is very good with a wide range of dishes to suit any palette, made to order & to the customers liking. Once you've bern here you'll want to come back.

Characteristic restaurant, very beautiful, full of particular objects, stained glass window inside with lead decoration and primary colours, friendly staff, excellent food! Advised!

Simpson’s is the best meal we’ve had in a long time!! We had the 50/50 (Cajun chicken & sirloin steak) and the Goats Cheese Chicken - they were both so incredible and the service was extremely fast! Dessert was unreal too! The chocolate chip cookie dough comes hot in a mini skillet with ice cream and the apple pie was so fresh! The atmosphere is dark and cosy too! Don’t miss this spot for a meal if you’re in the area!

Simpson’s Bar is a gem. It consistently offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu selection is fabulous, featuring a wide variety of options. I have been coming here for many years, and it’s definitely a place to add to your list.

Nice, crowded, place with a good atmosphere. Friendly staff, but they forgot to take the order of one of the tables and the people sitting on this table got food without ordering any. On our table they did take the orders, but they forgot to serve us. Sandwich was nice, but nothing special.

Outstanding food. We brought a huge family group here twice on our holiday and it was amazing both times. Can strongly recommend the garlic potatoes, but everything was wonderful, and the kids loved their meals too. When we had a meal for over twenty of us, our main waitress was absolutely amazing, and all the staff were great.

Recently used them to celebrate a 21st and I have to say everything was perfect just absolutely on point and I will be using their services again
