Snailbox in

Staff were really nice and the restaurant itself was very clean and welcoming, kids loved looking around at all the different decor and hats. Kids got the nuggets and chips and were really happy, no complaints. They genuinely looked good and not just your standard frozen fair. The adults ordered the sirloin steaks and were left disappointed. The size of the steak itself was perfect but little effort was put into the cooking of them, zero seasoning was used on any steaks we were served nor where they cooked on a grill or over charcoal for added flavour. We all agreed we could have produced the same standard at home without the same cost associated. Would i go again yes, if i was to bring the kids somewhere local enough for a feed. Would i go again just with adults no if being honest there is better options near by.

We have eaten in the snailbox a few times and this experience merited a review. We had a lovely meal and unfortunately we had an incident with our son which we had to raise with staff. Management stepped right in and took care of the situation and turned what could’ve been a very frustrating experience into one our son and us now remember for the kindness and understanding of the staff. Our son loves his snailbox hat too. Thank you for listening to us and for making an uncomfortable situation one that we now remember for how well you dealt with it and now our son can’t wait for us to go back!

It just gets better and better from Philip, Stephen and all the staff. The food is excellent and the famous chicken wings are just.... famous!!

Always an amazing service from all staff food is unreal fillet stake is best around if anyone asked me where is nice to eat without a shadow of a doubt I would say snailbox.

Went out for food and a pint with my dad, son and grandson, my partner and daughter in law. A really great feed to enjoy one of the few chances left to get 4 generations of first sons together. Food was excellent, service likewise and there was a really friendly vibe about the place.

We came in as walk-ins and the staff were so nice and accommodating, getting us a table right away. The atmosphere is amazing-you have to see the thousands of hats on the ceiling, it's such a unique vibe! The food was 10/10. My steak was cooked perfectly, and the desserts were lovely and fresh. To top it off, the pints were spot on. A brilliant spot in Ashbourne with top-class service. Highly recommend!

Great food I had the stew which was amazing. Friends had steak and enjoyed them. Baileys cheesecake is good and I liked the Jelly with a flake. Staff is friendly and manager stops by to check on things.
