Top quality food and excellent service, great menu and good selection of wines

Such a lovely little restaurant on the Ashford Castle estate, designed like a traditional fisherman’s cottage. Very cozy, relaxed and a nice change from the more formal restaurants in the castle. We had dinner here and really enjoyed it — good food, great atmosphere and excellent service. Definitely recommend having dinner here at least once during your stay at Ashford Castle. It’s a very pleasant and different experience.

We had a wonderful experience at Cullen’s at the Cottage! We visited as a family of four with our two kids on a weekday around 1:30 pm. We were walk-ins, and everything was easy and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and attentive, and we were seated without any hassle. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Martin Jennings’ 27.5 Minute Steak, served with chimichurri, garden leaves, and fries. The steak was delicious, and the chimichurri added a wonderful flavor. We also ordered the Connemara Crab, served on brioche with garden pickled vegetables, which was excellent and had a lovely combination of flavors and textures. My daughter ordered the chicken goujons with garden leaves and chips, and she really enjoyed her meal. Everything we had was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and welcoming, and it was a comfortable place to enjoy lunch with our children. The location is beautiful, and the setting made the meal feel even more special. Everything was clean and well cared for, and we especially appreciated the very clean bathrooms, which is always a big plus when traveling with kids. Overall, we had a fantastic family lunch. The food, service, atmosphere, location, cleanliness, and hospitality were all excellent. We had a great experience and would happily return. Highly recommended for families and anyone looking for delicious food, friendly service, and a beautiful, welcoming setting!

We had a wonderful celebratory luncheon at Cullen's at the Cottage to mark my son's engagement during our Ireland trip, complete with a lovely bottle of champagne, which was thoroughly enjoyed. The food was fantastic, and the service was swift and calculated, the kind of perfected service that's subtle, never distracting, yet very noticeable. If you can not stay at Ashford, I highly recommend a dining experience at Ashford Castle. We followed up our lunch with a Hawk Walk at the School of Falconry on site, which was magical! Great memories made!

We loved our dinner here! The food was incredible and the atmosphere was quiet. I especially loved the butter with the bread!

The food was great, the service so so, but they tried their best. There just must have been a couple of new staff members. It had a South African twist and overall was tasty and a great experience. The surrounding location was obviously outstanding.

Great little lunch spot! The seafood here is on point! That would 100% be their specialty
