Lovely food. Table of 16 and the food came very quickly. Reasonable price.

I was so impressed by the overall experience at Snailbox. We went as a family to emerald park and I did a quick google search of pub grub nearby so we could stop for dinner on the way home. Without booking we were seated immediately, offering free ev charging for our car and a high chair provided for baby. We were seated in a lovely bench nook which was very handy with kids. I had the stew which was delicious, my husband vegan stir fry and our 4 year old hake & chips. We were delighted the restaurant did hake, a much more sustainable choice of fish…it was delicious. One small suggestion is that they add another vegan option I.e. vegan roast as I feel my husband missed out a bit! Service was exceptional and I loved the history & charm. Brilliant for families. We will be back!

Delicious food and excellent service. You can also stay overnight if needed. They have the largest collection of caps in Ireland. If you bring your own cap, you can exchange it for a new one from the restaurant. Philip is a very welcoming host. There's also a great bar and a large collection of sports memorabilia (e.g., Pelé's footballs).

A Birthday Treat at The Snailbox, Kilmoon
A lovely birthday treat for my wife at The Snailbox in Kilmoon — a fabulous restaurant steeped in character, heritage and wonderful memories.
The walls tell stories of the past, adorned with musical instruments and baseball caps generously donated by grateful customers over the decades. There’s a real sense that generations of hungry travellers have passed through these doors, enjoyed great food and hospitality, and left a little piece of themselves behind.
It was my first visit to Kilmoon, and it brought back memories of older teenagers I grew up with telling tales of their weekend journeys to Kilmoon Ballroom in the late ’60s and early ’70s, in search of entertainment, music, dancing and perhaps a little romantic adventure along the way!
The food at The Snailbox is top class, and the staff know exactly how to make you feel welcome. Friendly, attentive and genuinely warm, they have that wonderful gift of making customers feel like honoured guests while ensuring everyone leaves happy and satisfied.
For us, it was more than just a meal — it was a lovely birthday experience filled with good food, nostalgia, laughter and warm memories.
The Snailbox certainly knows how to feed the body, warm the heart and keep the memories coming. A wonderful experience that will be cherished for years to come. ❤️🎂🎶

Lovely spot for grub after a long day at Emerald Park. I had the Seafood Hotpot and was excellent and filled with fish. We managed a few drinks as well before retiring to the campervan for the night. A Nice touch is they allow you to stay over once your dining.. they also have accomodation here.
