Square Restaurant in Dundalk

The Square restaurant is head and shoulders above any restaurant in the North East of Ireland. The menu is unique, many levels above your normal restaurant. The food is simply outstanding and portioned perfectly. The service is first class also. Cannot recommend enough. Costs includes bottle of wine and cocktails.

I’ve been meaning to try this restaurant for ages after hearing such great things from friends. I finally got the chance last weekend and brought my mum and I can safely say it did not disappoint. The meal was flawless from start to finish. The broccoli side was one of the nicest side dishes I’ve ever had and I’d return for that alone. The little truffles to end the evening were perfect. The staff were super friendly and Conor went around and checked on all the tables which was a lovely personal touch. I’ll definitely be back as there were so many things I wanted to try. Hopefully the spicy margarita will still be on the menu. 10/10

Visited several time, food always spot on never any complaints

We dined in about a week or so ago and unfortunately received very bad service. We were served by a blonde waitress who was snippy and rude. There was an issue with the food to which we received no apology - when we asked about the issue with the food she blamed us for ordering it, when it was clear she had input the wrong food. Mistakes happen and people can have bad days, that’s fine. However we have been to this restaurant multiple times and were made feel like a burden the entire evening.

Something for everyone on the menu, and all of it superb. Very friendly, down-to-earth staff. Its my go-to if I fancy treating myself and still enjoy informal, totally unpretentious dining.

Best food I have eaten in years and goes the other 2 people at my table. Really brilliant food, great service, great location in Dundalk and a good atmosphere. Enjoy

Dundalk has been fortunate with some really good Restaurants this past few years but Square restaurant has be number one. The quality of food is next to none with the atmosphere and the staff both excellent. Worth a visit.

Best restaurant in the country. In a league of their own.
